The insurance companies negotiate prices with those hospitals. All of them charge less for any tom dick or harry that walks in and pays cash. Why ? Im not saying the hospitals are innocent. Far from it. They overspend on everything. They are really bad at cost optimization. Most don’t know their costs for any given procedure. But most people’s connection to healthcare starts with their insurance plan

After consulting with @POTUS and his team and @LeaderJohnThune, the Senate @BudgetGOP Committee will expeditiously move toward creating a second budget reconciliation bill.   The number one priority of the federal government has always been keeping our homeland safe and keeping our enemies at bay over there so they can't hit us here. While federal law enforcement spending represents about only one percent of the federal budget, what these men and women can accomplish with it is incredible.   The purpose of the second reconciliation bill is to make sure there is adequate funding to secure our homeland and to support our men and women in the military who are fighting so bravely. More funding will mean they can complete the task assigned and keep America safe – which is money well spent. During President Trump’s second term, the murder rate marked the largest single-year drop in recorded history and illegal border crossings are at the lowest level since the 1970’s. Imagine what will happen when we fully invest in President Trump’s public safety mission. I also think we have many opportunities to improve voter integrity through reconciliation.    President Trump and Leader Thune are right to push for a second reconciliation bill to address the threats we face and keep our elections secure and fair.   I, along with the great members of the Senate Budget Committee, intend to deliver.

The average TSA agent makes $50,000. The Democrat senators who have been blocking their paychecks make $174,000 - THREE TIMES MORE. Democrats should be ashamed. EVERY federal worker needs to get paid — including ICE. We need to pass my No Budget, No Pay Act so members of Congress have to give up their paychecks if they block federal workers' paychecks during a government shutdown.

American is a healthy 28 year old, he decided to skip paying for health insurance this year because the cheapest plan was $900 per month with a high deductible He had to spend 2 nights in the ER without insurance, he breaks down the bill “This is my receipt from spending 2 days in the hospital: - It totaled about $24,000 - My CT scan alone was $8,300 - Laboratory, 6,000 - IV therapy, $1,020, $4,000 in total And while $24,000 seems like a lot of money, let me show you something. This is what I'm actually paying, $2,478 because when you don't have insurance, these hospitals give you a discount. They discounted $22,000 off of this bill” “But if I had insurance, I wouldn't have gotten that discount. So it would've been a $24,000 bill billed to my insurance, and then my insurance would've said, ‘Hey, you have a $5,000 deductible. You need to pay $5,000 for this last emergency room visit.’ Then you tack on the $900 a month that I'd be paying for that insurance. I'd be paying $20K this year for healthcare. So the craziest part about this is even if I have another hospital visit, by the end of this year, I'm still gonna be paying less than I would if I had insurance.
