Excellent speakers and an incredible public for a much-needed debate on the safeguarding catastrophe happening in the United Kingdom. Was great to welcome the Secretary of State @wesstreeting to Canterbury today to thank the team at @UniKent who are vaccinating students against #MenB meningitis.

The Health Secretary, Wes Streeting, is visiting the vaccination centre in Canterbury that has been set up in a sports hall at the University of Kent. He will be speaking to students getting their jabs, medical staff administering the vaccines and the media.

FiLiA welcomes this announcement from the Government and the provision of additional support to Women enabling them to give their best evidence. This will hopefully keep victims better informed about the process and increase their confidence in the system. #ListenToSurvivors

Today, I have announced £5 million of funding for the @CPSUK to support victims of domestic abuse in the Crown Court. Victims will be offered a pre trial meeting with the prosecution. This will provide them with better support and ensure their voice is heard.

🧵Over a week in October 2025, five specialist orgs in England & Wales, @Kairos_WWT, @nia_endingVAWG, @StreetTalk_LDN, Women at the Well & The Swan Project, took part in a ‘snapshot’ exercise, collecting the experiences of 91 women involved in the commercial sex trade.

Last year, I brought forward a Ten Minute Rule Bill to make sure Sikh and Jewish communities are no longer invisible in public data. I repeated that call in a Westminster Hall debate. Public data shapes public policy and if communities aren’t counted, they don’t count.
