See this video… Yesterday, a Rent-a-Car #Thar vehicle was reportedly involved in a serious hit-and-run accident in South Goa, leaving a woman critically injured. Overtaking from the left is not just illegal… it is extremely dangerous. Sadly, this dangerous practice has become very common on Goan roads today. Many fatal accidents in #Goa are happening because of reckless left-side overtaking, sudden lane cutting, and lack of lane discipline. When someone overtakes from the left, they are not only risking their own life, but also the lives of innocent riders, pedestrians, and families on the road. Goa is one of India’s most educated states, and following basic traffic rules should be a responsibility for every citizen. There is an urgent need to improve road safety awareness and traffic discipline through simple but effective measures like: · “DO NOT OVERTAKE FROM LEFT” signboards on roads and vehicles · Regular road safety and traffic awareness campaigns · Strict enforcement of lane driving and overtaking rules · Better awareness and lane discipline can help prevent many serious accidents on our roads. At the same time, slow-moving vehicles, buses, and heavy trucks must avoid continuously occupying or blocking the RIGHT LANE on highways. The right lane is primarily meant for overtaking and faster-moving traffic, while slower vehicles should remain in the LEFT LANE unless overtaking. When vehicles unnecessarily stay in the RIGHT LANE, it creates traffic congestion, forces risky lane changes, and increases the chances of accidents caused by sudden braking or dangerous overtaking from the left. Proper lane discipline is essential for smooth traffic flow, safer highways, and reducing road rage and reckless driving. Road safety begins with simple discipline. For decades, Congress thrived on slogans, division, and entitlement politics. Today, when the people of India are choosing leadership based on performance, nationalism, and development, the frustration within Congress is clearly visible. Using words like “GADDAR” against the Prime Minister and Home Minister only reflects the Congress party’s desperation and declining political relevance.

Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji’s sense of humour reflects his simplicity, confidence, and remarkable ability to connect with people with warmth and ease.

It was deeply disturbing to witness a young railway employee allegedly being assaulted today at around 12 noon by the driver and conductor of bus number GA-08-T-4034 at the bus stop opposite St. Sebastian Church in Aquem, Margao, Goa. As a concerned citizen, I feel this issue is no longer just about isolated incidents, but about public safety and the growing fear among residents and commuters. This is the third such incident of assault and public fighting involving bus drivers and conductors that I have witnessed within just one week at the same location. Such acts of violence in broad daylight cannot and should not be tolerated in a civil society. The people of Margao are constantly being put at risk due to reckless driving, over speeding, and buses dangerously overtaking each other on Margao roads merely to pick up one extra passenger. This not only endangers pedestrians, passing cars and motorists, but also creates panic and insecurity among the public. What is even more worrying is that when citizens question such behaviour, they are allegedly met with aggression and assault. If the @Goa_Police truly want to put an end to these repeated incidents, strict and exemplary action must be taken. The licences of buses involved in violent behaviour and reckless endangerment of public safety should be permanently cancelled. Public transport is meant to serve and protect commuters, not create fear and insecurity on our streets. A Cardiac Ambulance purchased through MPLADS funds of South Goa MP Captain Viriato Fernandes, meant for public healthcare, is a very good initiative. However, the function ended up looking more like a Congress event than a public service programme. When public assets are inaugurated, there is a protocol, a system, and institutional dignity attached to such occasions. Women are strengthening their place at the centre of society, culture, education, politics, and leadership while reclaiming their rightful role in shaping the nation’s future.
