@michindorado @BowTiedPassport The politicians who want to get elected, they steal through inflation and give it to seniors so they vote for them. Young people get screwed

What Mexico is really doing, is moving the goalpost to show better numbers. The minimum wage was doubled over the last six years, which on paper shows people earn more, but doesn’t acknowledge the high inflation and interest rates. Mexicans living abroad sent more than $66 billion in remittance, which acts as a private safety net. The government has also been buying support by doing direct cash transfers to seniors and students to push households just above the poverty line. In reality, Mexico’s GDP growth slowed to about 1.4% in 2024 and is hovering around 0.5% to 1.1% for 2025–2026.

@BowTiedPassport In America it’s called social security, in Mexico it’s called buying support from seniors. 🤦🏽‍♂️

@BowTiedPassport Here in Mexico we have very mediocre concepts and parameters for measuring wealth or well-being. Salaries should increase in line with inflation! Food, energy, and service prices are increasing exorbitantly! Obviously, the money doesn't go as far in practice. 💸🫰💰💣

@sesi_the_man Do you think its because no young doctor could afford the practice? Or is it boomers selling out to the highest bidder even if the highest bid destroys the society? I think we need more religion in the US

My wife's eye doctor sold the sole-proprietor 20+ year practice he built to private equity so he could retire. The same thing is happening all over the country in all kinds of industries -- the wealthiest people in our society are buying everything with cantillonaire money.

The sacrifice of Sgt. Howard and Sgt. Torres-Tovar underscores the brutal cost of America's counter-terrorism missions. While honoring their courage, we must confront why U.S. troops remain exposed in volatile regions years after ISIS's territorial defeat. The Pentagon's $1.2 billion annual budget for Operation Inherent Resolve continues funding advisory roles with diminishing returns—prioritizing bureaucratic inertia over strategic exit plans. True tribute demands reevaluating endless deployments that risk lives without clear victory conditions. These patriots deserved focused missions with overwhelming force, not ambiguous nation-building. Their legacy compels Washington to replace open-ended commitments with decisive, resource-efficient strategies.

@TXTWHALE @PeterMcCormack The best way to have a fair system is to have the least amount of rules possible but to enforce the rules equaly

@PeterMcCormack Yeah, I get the point, but I’m only halfway there. Life isn’t fair, sure, but sometimes the system’s rigged way beyond effort or mindset. Still, I’m grateful to live now, when we’ve got chances our grandparents couldn’t even imagine. You just play your odds the best you can.

Life isn’t fair, cry me a river. I’d love to have ran the 100m in the Olympics but I wasn’t fast enough, do we hang weights on the other runners. Not everyone can have what they want but we live in the best time, with the best opportunity. Every 100 years you go back it was materially harder to survive and materially harder to be successful.
Mike TX24@TXTWHALE

@PeterMcCormack Yeah, but here’s the part no one says out loud: not everyone starts from the same place. You can grind all day, stack jobs, listen to audiobooks, and still hit walls others never see. Working smarter matters, but so do timing, network, and a system that often isn’t fair.

🇲🇽 Interesting Stats In 2024, about $65 billion in remittances flowed from the U.S. to Mexico. Juan Aldama, a tiny municipality in Zacatecas with 19,598 residents, received $93.3 million USD in remittances in just the first half of 2025. Roughly $4,762 per person. For context: 60% of Mexicos population earns less than $5,600 per year

I just bought two coffees and donut holes and paid with bitcoin. I was this stores’ first bitcoin customer. The only problem is calling “sats”“bitcoin”. The merchant was like, “6000 bitcoin?” and he was naturally confused. I hope the Square team will come around and realize using “sats” is far better UX. @milessuter @Square At any rate, amazing progress and terrific product launch. It worked flawlessly. The future is here. ⚡️

There are 2.1 quadrillion sats in existence. But there are only 300 billion pennies in existence. Pretty obvious which one is actually scarce, based on the numbers.
