The winner of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Award is… Dave Fynn Dave is a supervisor in our Force Contact Centre, however, he recently completed a secondment to the ED&I team. His work during that time has ensured that we are becoming a more inclusive employer 💙

@Probbie_Plod Investigations officers would be of many interests to people. Purely investigating crime and supporting victims with dedicated time and focus to deliver an excellent service.
English

@Probbie_Plod Been saying this from day 1. Investigations are not for response officers to deal. The initials yes, arrests/statements/cctv. Investigations officers are needed in my force to complete casefiles and arguably interviews. It would free up thousands of hours to attend grade 1/2/3s..
English

@PropperCop Sorry to hear this but not suprised by so many who feel the same. Trying to do investigations/casefiles with no time to complete does effect your welfare and feel like letting victims' down. I hope my force improves for response officers 🙏 Keep positive & reach out 👍

@MarcusSweeney2 @darretpingo @PFEW_HQ @HMICFRS @RishiSunak @SuellaBraverman @JWhittingdale This is the issue, spending to much time on casefiles.
English

@darretpingo @P25568 @PFEW_HQ @HMICFRS @RishiSunak @SuellaBraverman @JWhittingdale Not always - case bailed back to me and have spent half of a set redacting documents and uploading files only for connect to not save them, hours on hours wasted
English

Recently @HMICFRS found: One police force puts in additional 1,260 hours per month to build case files at the pre-charge stage and observed, “it has become significantly more time-consuming”.

@darretpingo @PFEW_HQ @HMICFRS @RishiSunak @SuellaBraverman @JWhittingdale Sounds a better system than ours, I know other forces are similar to the met. I strongly believe this is one of the reasons why we are in special measures. Things need to improve our end. The whole investigation process is not manageable for response officers here in staffs imo
English

@P25568 @PFEW_HQ @HMICFRS @RishiSunak @SuellaBraverman @JWhittingdale To be fair, in the met, we do have a secondary investigation unit which takes over case files after response Officers arrest. However even still, that unit is mainly made up of response officers who do stints on the team. Case files could still do with being cut down.
English

@darretpingo @PFEW_HQ @HMICFRS @RishiSunak @SuellaBraverman @JWhittingdale Totally agree. If we had investigation unit/officers to take over the case files, this would allow PCs to be more proactive in tackling the huge demand of incidents we face. Otherwise we are stuck behind desks working on case files which does not make sense as a Response Officer.
English

@PFEW_HQ @HMICFRS @RishiSunak @SuellaBraverman @JWhittingdale The Police would be so much more efficient if arresting Officers didn't have to create whole case files. Sure, MG11, witness statements, exhibits, fine. But all the redaction, unused material and the rest ties them up from going onto the next arrest....
English

@SWales_FedChair Further, the young in service are expected to be experienced in dealing with complex investigations.

@DCC_OReilly Congratulations Sir. My family and I had the pleasure of meeting you at my Special attestation in 2011. Wishing you a very enjoyable retirement.

@TomGaymor Barbaric decision by the courts. This suspect is clearly a danger to police and the public. Where is the justice? Thoughts go to the officer, wishing for speedy recovery.
English

This is Sam, this week she was seriously assaulted whilst making an arrest and protecting the public 🤬 Yesterday the courts decided to bail the suspect sending out an astonishing message 🤔 Would you feel valued/supported doing your job if this was you? #ProtectTheProtectors

@RogerJ_01 @stokecity @BBCRadioStoke It was quite emotional before kick off. On my feet clapping Nigel Johnson. He's such a legend Roger, you must be proud. So disappointed the last game wasn't a win. Wishing your dad the best 👍

So, he’s finished his 2400ish @stokecity commentary after 54 years as a freelancer with @BBCRadioStoke (never had a contract) and is still working on questions to ask the manager. A professional until the end. 👏👏👏👏👏

English

@RogerJ_01 A good performance, atmosphere and a win for Nigel 🙏 Fingers crossed Roger 🤞
English

@P25568 Cheers Matt. Let's hope they can send him off with a win! Given his first Stoke match was a 5-2 defeat at West Brom in 1970, I am apprehensive!!

Looking forward to listening to this ... ahead of my dad's final game after 54-years behind the mic this Saturday! 😀
