If you think travelling home with your “job” trousers on and a T-shirt and you are not distinguishable you are mistaken.
You stick out like a sore thumb
And you are a fool (sorry)
Blah blah blah. It’s always ok until it’s not

@ReasonableCop The issue with offering higher pay to voluntary roles are accusations of preferential treatment, why someone gets it over someone else.
It’s essentially a chosen pay rise for certain officers, I understand the concept but I’m not a fan of it.

@ReasonableCop Our force have recently ramped up dealing with shop lifters and are now charge charge charge where possible
English

@Probbie_Plod Our force has just said whoever wants one can have one. However the waitlist for training is 12-18 months.
English

@OldSweatProbie Yeah I could drag my feet and be sour about it but that’ll only make my new team/management want to make less effort with me anyway!
Is what it is and like you said hopefully it’s not permanent 😂
English

@ReasonableCop It’s honestly just concerning more than anything, it’s like there’s been a vacuum on educating young people about law and order.

@PropperCop @McGeePhil Yeah we have 5 out of service from 11 in total. It’s like you get one back and another goes 🤣
Or we end up lending to other boroughs
English

@McGeePhil @Probbie_Plod Don't get me wrong, think currently we've still only got 2 drivers but the vehicles are a definite issue.

@PC_DaybyDay Even if I got in, it’d probably be deferred until 2027 at this rate 🤣
English

@PC_DaybyDay You did look like you were struggling for air at times 😬

@1829BOBBY I am close enough to transfer however I’m not sure I could deal with the total chaos 🤣

@Probbie_Plod Join the Met. I can’t find enough days to do more overtime. It’s great
English

@Rookieresponder We’ve paraded 1 and 4 for a city on 100K and it’s bedlam. Thankfully neighbouring boroughs help but we’ve often been zero deployable at 2200hrs due to constants and mispers.
English

@Probbie_Plod It isnt about the pay, except in large cities the appeal is the perceived kudos and the easier life; most arv teams would not g back to response because of the workload. Also, you can get hung out to dry if a domestic goes south, which is more likely than having to shoot someone.
English

@aussie_sarge True in that sense however it’s a voluntary role to carry a firearm no extra pay
English

@Probbie_Plod Whilst I understand if they don’t, I’d imagine the decision will be as much financial. Been saying it for a while but policing needs to get on the front foot.
