Prof. Sachin Kumar Sharma (@SKSharma_World), Director General, RIS, warmly welcomed Shri Sarbananda Sonowal (@sarbanandsonwal), Hon’ble Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, and Prof. Yogesh Singh (@YeDesHaiMera), Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of University of Delhi (@UnivofDelhi).
In his address, Prof. Sharma noted the signing of two significant Memoranda of Understanding between CMEC-RIS and University of Delhi, and between RIS and Delhi School of Economics as an important step toward fostering deeper institutional collaboration.
Reflecting on four decades of RIS’s engagement in economic diplomacy, he highlighted its substantive contributions across trade, technology, maritime sectors, and capacity building. He observed that these partnerships are designed to bridge the interface between academia and policymaking through collaborative research and sustained policy engagement, while reaffirming the continued commitment of RIS to strengthening India’s policy and academic ecosystem, particularly through its focus on capacity building.
Prof. Sharma emphasized the imperative of adopting a multidisciplinary approach to enhance India’s global competitiveness and to effectively address increasingly complex economic challenges.
