I've been around long enough to say this with some confidence: “Raising support” is one of the worst systems we’ve created for sending missionaries. It’s breaking people—and it’s breaking the mission field. Here's why and my solution from history's greatest missionary:

@LoneStarChica Expectation of lifestyle. then expectation was a very modest 2-3 bedroom 1 bath home all builders grade. One car, modest lives and vacations were camping at. the lake. Now the expectation large home, high end finishes, 2 cars, extravagant vacations and luxurious daily lives.

Just one lifetime ago in the United States, our grandfathers could buy a home, buy a car, have 3 to 4 children, keep their wives at home, take annual vacations, and then retire… all on one middle-class salary. What happened?

WHEN YOUR HEROES BECOME FRIENDS & YOUR FRIENDS BECOME HEROES —Being at the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump was a gift. As I reflect on it I am immensely grateful. Consider this a Jon Gordon gratitude walk post ⚡️ I am grateful for the Lord Jesus Christ who has allowed me to have such great friends and heroes. There is not enough space here to thank them all. Not even close. Allow me for a moment to share a personal note of reflection that I hope you find valuable. First, I never dreamed in a million years I would get to do anything I am doing now. I am a kid who was adopted, grew up in rural Kansas, and reached for Christ through the bus ministry of a small Baptist Church. Called to preach at 12 at Camp Victory. I never dreamed I would get to start a Digital Media Agency, run 153 marathons, meet @TonyRobbins , be on @JonGordon11 podcast, be in a church service with the President, or get to pastor amazing people. Yet, I always believed the promise that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. All I have ever wanted is to have God upon my life and to live in His Presence. Everything in my life I attribute to being divinely guided. The grace and mercy of Jesus, and the result of food less days and sleepless nights. Please know, I struggle often with FOMO, feeling like an imposter, or feeling left out. I have gone through the trials and storms I believed would crush me. Wondering if God remembered my number, my prayers, & his promises. I have been betrayed, lied about, and accused. On the verge of quitting. Yet, Jesus as sustained me. As I reflect on all the ups and downs and I am grateful for them all. They have made me who I am today. He forged me into Dr. Run. I feel a stewardship of all God has allowed me to experience. I am to champion my friends, build others up, connect people, open doors, and obsessively add massive value to others. I am thankful for every person in these photos. (I rarely take selfies or photos) It feels off to me at times. Not this time. I want to relive these moments and give God glory.
