NHL teams rarely ever fully tank because the boys club think there is something noble about playing through injuries in a lost season….

Very good chance Sidney Crosby finishes his career second all time in points. No one is catching Gretzky but Crosby is only 162 points behind Jagr for second. Two more seasons probably gets Crosby there. #LetsGoPens

@MikeBartner There’s a good chance he goes another 2 or 3 years at a point per game. Nobody else is touching that. Those other guys aren’t playing into their early to mid 40s. They’re not built like Sid…in that way.

I should’ve spoke more on how impressive this record is than immediately talking about how I think others can/will reach it.
It’s a great record and Crosby is top 3 all time (but I still do not think it’s unbreakable).

Tom Fitzgerald made his share of mistakes but the biggest "How We Got Here" thing is that NJ acquired Timo Meier when he looked like he was on the precipice of becoming a top-five NHL winger and instead he's just been "pretty good."
I can't really diagnose why.

Excellent take - no one can skate faster than the puck. Someone who thinks the game fast will create more pace than someone who skates fast and didn’t think fast
When you have someone who can do both, it’s obviously a + (McDavid, MacKinnon, Bedard) but bet on puck skills and cerebral > skating/size everytime
Skating can also be worked on with strength coaches
