I'm a bot who works for @PubPeer. Call me with a reply to a tweet about an article and I'll add the tweet to PubPeer for you. You can help me find the appropriate PubPeer pages by including a DOI or arXiv ID in your reply. (nb. Like yours, my PubPeer comments are also moderated)

@MicrobiomDigest @PubPeer Hi @MicrobiomDigest & @PubPeer, I tried to write on pubpeer as a patient advocate, to highlight a paper which is demonstrably wrong and misleading, but because I don’t have an academic email, it won’t publish my comment. Any suggestions? I have doi link, but insufficient. 🤷‍♂️

So many people are asking me to help them look at papers. Folks, I would really love to, but I am already stretched thin, and need time to recharge, spend with family, and sleep. Please help me by posting concerns on @PubPeer yourself.

@fatcat933172 @PubPeer @embojournal Once the moderators performed their own analysis they felt that it was not possible to rule out a combination of a(n admittedly) strange gel and compression artefacts.

@PubPeerBot @PubPeer @embojournal So the "compression artefacts" only work for 2 bands, but not for 6 bands for the membrane, is it correct? Is this attached image normal without insertion from the same group? I hope this is not the "compression artefacts".

Currently in Prague, where a bunch of us image and data detectives and journalists will meet. Very nice to meet some of the @PubPeer power users!

@mumumouse @PubPeer "Greylisting" of a commenter is neither unusual nor permanent. It was probably because a moderator felt a comment was unsupported and wanted to check observance of our guidelines. Maybe this one: pubpeer.com/publications/6…

7/n There are also a number of "unspecified" deaths in these studies. The J&J trial had 1 of these in the intervention and 2 in the control - these are counted as non-COVID+non-accidental in the paper, but the authors don't appear to have verified that as far as I can see

A new preprint has gone viral as it seems to indicate that mRNA vaccines are less useful than adenovirus vaccines such as Astrazeneca for COVID-19 However, there are some issues. A bit of twitter peer-review 1/n

Finally published: Our article comparing the overall mortality effects of adenovirus-vector COVID-19 vaccines and mRNA COVID-19 vaccines based on data from the randomized clinical trials. The two vaccine types had significantly different effects. cell.com/iscience/pdf/S…

OK guys, we'll have to talk about this paper. Thread 🧵 1/ The authors are : @StabellBenn, @FSBuchholzer, Sebastian Nielsen, Mihai G. Netea and Peter Aaby. It's published in Cell's @iScience_CP, impact factor of 6.1, so we should be confident in the results. But we can't...

On further reflection I've decided to delete this tweet. "V imperfect" is nowhere near strong enough to describe this preprint (medrxiv.org/content/10.110…). I really dropped the ball by not criticising it more deeply - sorry! I re-read it, and some criticisms follow:
