The thing about Pro/Rel vs none is not that it doesn't punish losing. It's that it punishes differently. In Pro/Rel the fans of the team are punished by having to follow their team in lower divisions. Without it the players and coaching staff are punished by being fired/released.

So apparently FIFA changed the tiebreaker rules. Head to head takes priority over GD now… We will need Turkiye to draw vs Paraguay or get a draw vs Turkiye. Kind of dumb a team with +6 could lose a group to +2…

Let’s be honest, if that was another player and not Messi, he would have been showed a red card or even a yellow card. But surprise, surprise, nothing was given. I also think it was because of the referee. If it was another referee, the card would have been given. And, there is a high probability the direction of the match would have changed.
