I'm tempted to finally churn off Slack. We're paying ~$6k/year for 40 people and they just quoted me $21k/year for the business version that includes a BAA (and all the shitty AI features). Incredibly overrated software

Everybody that works at my company hates me for it, but we use the free version lol Zero chance I'm paying for a tool that I could copy using an AI coder in 24 hours. I could definitely build a clone within five days for 40 people. Easy. What I started to do is just chain together free tools. I use the free version of this and the free version of that. And I pay money weren't really matters until I can not pay anymore. Slack is a good job, but zero chance you should be paying for something like that with the other tools that are available. You got this.

Over the past 6 months its become clear that SpaceX is withholding a massive amount of footage that they would normally share. I think there are a few possibilities of whats happening here: 1. The era of hype building media is over 2. They are saving a colossal amount of footage for the Flight 12 broadcast, which will be twice as long as normal and cover nearly 2 years worth of V3 and Stage Zero 2.0 development. 3. Instead of cramming it all into Flight 12, they are planning some kind of multi-part documentary that will be released in weekly/monthly installments. Personally I'm hoping for option 3, as it would likely be some kind of Path To Artemis/HLS type series.

Covering the Johnny Somali trial from first hearing to sentencing has been an educational and wild experience, big thanks to all the members of the Somali Conviction Team who came through to get jail time to happen. While I’m happy we proved Johnny Somali wrong when he said “I promise you I won’t get one day in jail” - we all feel that 6 months with labor, 20 days additional detention, is too light. At least 2 years, if not the prosecutors recommendation of 3 would be more appropriate. Let’s hope the prosecutor appeals

Had a fun day today. 2 weeks ago an Indian (US Citizen) IT employee called ICE on his own department because he heard that many of them were here on fake H1-B Visas. 25 employees were arrested out of 100ish. He was correct. After talking to his leadership he also informed them that many here legally,but we're hired under false pretenses, because they had bought diplomas in India and never really got a degree. At this point management was worried they had been defrauded so they called me up to help them figure it out. We ran all of the remaining employees hiring paperwork through some AI analytics today. Massive amounts of documents. This included reading copies of diplomas, and and a ton of other personal documents. Training the AI analytics tool to look for irregularities in past work experience and education history. As an example: 1.) Check to see if the school exists 2.) Check to see if the person who signed the diploma actually worked at the university 3.) check to see if the degree listed is actually taught at that university 4.) ETC ETC ETC. We found that of the remaining 75 H1-b employees 50 of them had provided fake diplomas to either our company directly, or the contracting company they were hired through. So out of this one department of 250 people, 100 ish were from India here on visas, and 75 of them had defrauded the company during the hiring process. Either providing fake visa paperwork or falsification of education. Basically 75% lied. Not sure what they are going to do about it yet, as across the IT organization they have 1500 ish H1-B visa employees and they cannot fire 75% of them right now even if they wanted to, but I do know they are running all current visa employees records through the tool, any new applicants as well, and will be firing anyone who lied as soon as they get replacement in line for them. From the leadership I was working with: "We have to remove them, we cannot keep employees who defraud the company even if they are good and cheap"

I was in the courtroom for Johnny Somali’s verdict. The second he walked in, his eyes were completely dead and lifeless. Zero trolling, zero antics toward the press and creators. He wouldn’t even look at us. He knew he was screwed. And he was so desperate that he lied about still being an ASU student (he already graduated) and tried to say that he missed his family lol. Sad. Hope harassing Koreans and being a public nuisance was worth the hard labor and prison time. But I hope that the prosecutor appeals because 6 months is not enough. WE WANT THE MAXIMUM SENTENCE! Who is we? Are they in Korea with you now or are you somehow trying to convey Americans want the maximum sentence? Because we don't. We think he's a bad person. But we think care ought to start taking care of their own starting with their national defense. If they got a big enough fan club to fly Americans over to watch court proceedings, and they got a big enough fan club to try to convince the world that they're justice system simply needs a little fine tuning, then they got enough money to handle their own national defense. That would be a great headline for Korea. I wouldn't have to get on there and figure out who's pretending to be an American and who's pretending to be a Korean, and who's getting paid to post, and who spreading propaganda... Would be a lot easier if you just paid for your own shit Korea.
