🚀 Excited to share our latest research on metabolomic signatures of carfilzomib-related cardiotoxicity in multiple myeloma patients, highlighting our newly developed risk score! #CardioOncology #Research
Our study investigates the endothelial dysfunction in patients undergoing carfilzomib treatment, focusing on creating a predictive risk score for cardiovascular adverse events (CVAE). #EndothelialDysfunction
We found that lower levels of protective biomarker T-UDCA in patients who developed CVAE could indicate a predisposition to these adverse events. This finding was crucial in developing our risk score. #Biomarkers #CVAE
By analyzing post-baseline/baseline ratios of metabolites, we identified key differences in dihydroxybenzoate, GCDCA, and ferulic acid between CVAE and non-CVAE patients. These metabolites are integral to our risk score. #Metabolomics
Our risk score incorporates the levels of these metabolites, providing a quantifiable measure to predict the likelihood of CVAE in patients undergoing carfilzomib treatment. #RiskScore #PredictiveModeling
Dihydroxybenzoate, known for its cardioprotective properties, plays a significant role in our risk score, linking metabolomic changes to potential cardiovascular risks. #Cardioprotection
The risk score also considers the beneficial roles of T-UDCA, statins, and regular exercise in reducing CVAE, emphasizing the importance of preventive strategies in high-risk patients. #CardioHealth #PreventiveCare
By integrating these factors, our risk score offers a personalized approach to predicting and mitigating cardiovascular risks, enhancing patient care and outcomes. #PersonalizedMedicine #CardioOncology
Our research contributes to a better understanding of the mechanisms behind carfilzomib-related cardiotoxicity and provides a practical tool for clinicians to assess and manage these risks. #CancerTherapy #RiskAssessment

Miami urgently needs to invest in mass transit if they’re serious about becoming the next great metropolis in the country. But that clashes with the people who actually run the city because they own the political system: the big car dealers and the developers who build the infrastructure for those cars.

Pssst, Miami needs way more investment into mass transit. Cars and highways in get ya so far (not that far…)

“An analysis by the Florida Policy Institute found that Florida would have to double its sales tax to 12% to replace lost property tax revenue. The move would make the state sales tax the nation's highest.”

AI medicine is inevitable.
In fact, it has arrived.
We're excited about this agreement with Utah to allow our AI to prescribe psychiatric renewals.
Yes. AI prescribing medication.
This is monumental and will collapse the cost of care.

@JeremyRedfernFL @RonDeSantis If one race needs a score on average 35% less than another race, controlling for every other variable, that is defacto race-based discrimination and we can objectively conclude this and monitor it over time.
English

@RonDeSantis It’s the same “scientific authority” that is teaching future physicians about how males can become females through puberty blockers, hormone replacement therapy, and mutilating surgeries.
Many of these institutions are run by people who reject the existence of objective truth.

The “heart of scientific authority” where objective measures are disregarded in favor of ideology and social activism in their discriminatory admissions policies?

Today the FDA approved the first once-weekly insulin.
Insulin icodec, now brand name Awiqli, demonstrated superior a1c reduction to daily insulin glargine with a1c reduction of 1.55% compared to 1.35%, in addition to 6 less injections per week in the ONWARDS phase 3 trial.
Now clinicians must become comfortable with switching daily insulin users to an equivalent weekly dose and start and titrate new users.

I agree, and I welcome the discussion. What is the medical rationale for routinely obtaining X-rays in healthy, asymptomatic patients who are simply presenting for an annual cleaning? In what other area of medicine are healthy people exposed to imaging on a routine annual basis without symptoms or a specific clinical indication?
English

@Rwill235 @LarryGreer20 @ATabarrok I refuse yearly x rays and have been doing every 2 years. I have not found great evidence to support yearly X-rays when asymptomatic and I think there are some risks to the radiation . Would love to see anyone with a complete analysis of risks and benefits of dental X-rays

If you have the basic skills to participate in the discourse at all — like you can read and comprehend a New York Times article in order to complain about it — you’re in a weird, out of touch, elite bubble.
