@lowz_n @AfricanHub_ ...it's better to have some say over your future than none at all!

@AfricanHub_ Too bad they have to spend all that gold wealth on military technology from the west. What happens when those gold deposits are depleted? Fund their military on canned tomatoes?

Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 has announced full control over its gold resources, marking an end to decades of foreign exploitation. The country has successfully launched production of its own locally refined gold bars 93 kg of pure gold extracted from mining waste.
The initiative has created 700 direct and 5,000 indirect jobs, while boosting national revenue, as Burkina Faso now earns $1,800 per ounce compared to just $180 under previous foreign agreements.

@DeputyGrocott ....come up to the board, one by one, or as they enter the classroom. Leave no room for distraction or debate - get it done!

Can anyone explain why, when I first started teaching… say 15 years ago kids were better at computers than I was, in terms of use of creating a PowerPoint or word document and using hardware.
Now… they can barely turn a computer on?

@Hannah_Digest .... you're pretty much a slave and a punchbag as the HT reserves the right to allow the restraining of children in a higher band. The more a child is worth freer it's reigns.

@jayapathak_ If racists don't want to be treated by BME staff in the NHS it should be their right....it might cost them their life, but it would be testimony to their convictions or stupidity

I got called a p*ki by a patient in the pharmacy who told me she didn’t want me to serve her since I didn’t respond to her question asking what religion I am. Nothing life-threatening, so yes I turned her away. We should not be expected to tolerate racial abuse. End of.

REMEMBER THIS
It’s worth a repost !
To all the Rioters, even those just standing by egging it on, say goodbye to your Spanish and European holidays!
All those who will be identified and convicted will not pass the EU ETIAS Entry System when it comes in. Nor the US ESTA. Hope it was worth it! 😁

@FionaDiomond NO....and they're the biggest drain on social services and the public purse. The NHS have worked so well in keeping people alive and kicking it's impacting the system. So keep on contributing if you're going to keep taking.

@David_P_UK @Miss_Snuffy .... unfortunately schools only get 30+ hours each to nurture and educate kids a lot of which can be undone in a toxic home environment

More on culture - for those of you wanting to understand why I think as I do.
You will never hear a kid at Michaela say ‘That’s unfair’. All kids are treated equally with regard to how we police their behaviour with very few exceptions. This is because we prioritise the team’s success over the individual’s success.
The progressive’s position is to treat kids unequally in order to ensure their needs are met as individuals. They think that by treating everyone differently, you are more likely to achieve the end goal of equality.
We don’t have that end goal of equality. Instead, we believe in equality of opportunity and in being fair and equal in our treatment to all.
Unfairness is the number one thing that will cause kids to buy out of a school’s values and misbehave as a result.
You hear the same idea of unfairness coming from rioters - whether BLM (country is structurally racist) or recent riots (two-tier policing).
People fight back when they think they are being treated unfairly.
Now of course one must assess and decide whether the feeling of unfairness is justified. If I had a group of kids saying they were being treated unfairly, they always get detentions for not doing their homework but this doesn’t happen to the others, I would want to investigate and find out if that is indeed true.
Once trust is gone, it is impossible for a school or a country to work towards a common goal. Trust is everything. Our strictness at school is all about building a community of trust.
I have always thought people misunderstand our school, even our supporters. Some will say I am a great school leader but I think all the wrong things when it comes to culture. But it is precisely because I think as I do about culture that we are successful at Michaela.
People think strict means throwing kids in detention. And of course it does indeed mean that.
But it means so much more. Michaela is successful because of the buy-in that we get from our kids. We get their buy-in because of how we manage our school culture.
The country must manage its culture and its multiculturalism or it will not succeed.
Same for schools. Same for the country.
