Every choice starts with this: Do you see others as equal to you? We all have an inner compass—call it conscience, spirit, or whatever—which we leverage when making that choice. 1/7

@SandyofCthulhu I love Pikmin I've played every one. But yes, it's obscure, and amazing he got the first one approved.

About 20 years ago I was at a reception for some game conference and my boss, Tony Goodman, introduced me to this little Japanese guy who turned out to be Shigeru Miyamoto. I literally babbled. I shook his hand with both of mine, and gibbered out something idiotic about how I made games too. Yes, I have nothing to be ashamed of. I have Call of Cthulhu, Doom, Quake, much of the Age of Empires series, and assist for Civilization to be credit but MAN ALIVE IT WAS SHIGERU MIYAMOTO. I was so befuddled I missed my chance to ask him my number one question in all gaming history. I had no idea that I would ever be affected by hero worship. It just hit me out of the blue like the hammer of Thor. I've met Will Smith, Bill Gates, and other famous celebrities, but didn't lose my marbles for any of them. Meeting Miyamoto pierced me to my core. For those wondering, my number one question in all gaming history is how the HELL he got Pikmin approved, because wow.

Only by recognizing that we are the authors of our experience can we then take control of that pen, write the stories we want, generate the emotions we want, and take the actions we want.

But if we really want to control our actions we must control our feelings, understanding that they are our own creation and are not inflicted upon us. Then, to control our feelings we must control our stories. 3/

This order by the SLC Mayor perfectly encapsulates the modern Democrat Party: “We care about responsible water use, which is why we’ll never allow warehouses to be used for immigration enforcement… But never EVER ask us to stop AI data centers from wasting millions of gallons of water. We know who our real bosses are.”
Lindsay Aerts@LindsayOnAir

👀👀 INBOX: @slcmayor has issued an ordinance that essentially blocks water from the new ICE warehouse on the city's West side citing Utah's water crisis.👇👇@abc4Utah #utpol

@jonathanplumb If you think there's a significant enough difference to matter between getting a planet and creating worlds, then you're eating crayons! 😉

This is hilarious. One asks if we get our “own” planet (as in, I am the owner). The other clarifies that we will make new worlds as part of a collective effort, following the pattern Heavenly Father established. The former allows us to do whatever we want. The latter confines us to God’s system alone. If you can’t see the difference, you have a genuine reading compression issue, and should probably study until you fix it.

@Utah_Cowboys @OneGoodMic Notice the key words "filled with." I doubt any of us are as filled with that spirit as Nephi was. It's something I strive for as well.

@OneGoodMic @StarTether Ironically, Nephi tells us Isaiah is easy to understand “IF” we have the Spirit of Prophecy… AKA: “The Testimony of Jesus.” I don’t know. Maybe I’m defective. My default is to believe what Nephi actually wrote. I might just be to simple a “little 🧠” among geniuses.

Another stupid convert question… If there are 2 Churches, one the ⛪️ of God, the other (all encompassing) is the ⛪️ of the devil, as is written… Why would the Church of God donate money (helps expand CoD) & build bridges to the CoD? Logically, I can’t make it work… help?

@hvworlton He needs and wants to be angry and so he needs the church to be the villain. Sad.

APPARENTLY, some people can't stand being told that you should be responsible for your own choices, you need to take charge of your own life, and stop giving your agency up to others. He blocked me for telling him to grow up. 🤦 Ah, well. Keep being a victim, I guess.

@CLURT1847 @BlackBlessedLDS 'It did not strictly imply absolute flawlessness or ideal excellence in the casual, hyperbolic way it often does today (e.g., "This pizza is perfect!").' --from looking up the meaning of the word in 1835.

@CLURT1847 @BlackBlessedLDS Also, at the time Joseph Smith received the word "perfect" it 'primarily carried the core sense of "finished," "complete," or "consummate"—meaning something that had all parts or qualities required for its nature or purpose, without defect or omission in that context.'

@CLURT1847 @BlackBlessedLDS Children also understand "like" to mean "familiar" which is why a 5-year-old, with utter confidence, will say "I don't like that" regarding food when they have never seen or tasted that food. We learn over time how to narrow the meaning of "like" to "prefer" or "enjoy."

@CLURT1847 @BlackBlessedLDS I will refer you back to the following post, which you haven't provided clarity on. There is a commandment to be "perfect." Perfect has multiple meanings. Which meaning applies in the commandment? x.com/i/status/20355…
StarTether@StarTether

@CLURT1847 @BlackBlessedLDS It's seems to be the motivating understanding behind this tweet x.com/i/status/20350… I'm happy to receive correction if flawlessness wasn't your intent. Because the change in dialogue re. perfection is about separating the interpretation of flawlessness from completeness.

@StarTether @BlackBlessedLDS My question to you: when did I say so? You find words there are not there and this what interpolation is. Why do you need to convolute plain truth? Oh I know so that you can mingle those philosophies of men.

When I turned my ankle in church ball, my bishop told me it was probably sprained. I took his advice as any other reasonable person would and based all my medical decisions on it. Well it was NOT sprained. It was torn and needed medical attention. I’ll be forever angry he didn’t know my exact diagnosis.

@Utah_Cowboys Also, Nephi could see that spiritual death was likened to physical death, and so he could see a lot of parallels of spiritual things with temporal and emotional things. And he drew those comparisons when he could.

@Utah_Cowboys Potentially. It's just an idea. The concepts of I-It and I-Thou are known ideas (see The Anatomy of Peace and other books), and are mutually exclusive. IMO, the results of an I-Thou perspective are the same results as the Church of the Devil, so they are likely one and the same.

@KintsugiJin Beautiful! We each want to control what's happening, to guarantee our success. But the only way to really succeed is to let go of the need for control.
