I should note that DC already has TSP for buses along several major corridors, including Massachusetts Ave, Wisconsin Ave, 16th St, Georgia Ave, and in downtown.
Red squares are TSP while blue arrows are queue jumps, which allow buses to move before other cars at a light.

WMATA also wants buses to spend less time waiting at red lights. In 2027, the agency hopes to start deploying transit signal priority (TSP) on high frequency routes This will reduce the time spent at intersections by around a third, leading to an 8-15% drop in total travel times

Speaking of, a few months ago I easily found a bunch of cars right outside MPD headquarters with license plate covers on them.

The car was removed from the tracks around 1:30 p.m. & normal service has resumed! Our Intrusion Detection Warning system did its job by alerting our command center of a fence breach & obstruction. Thank you to @ffxfirerescue for their assistance!

What in the world are we doing here? Why would anyone think it's acceptable for this officer to keep their job?

After a disciplinary hearing, MPD decided to fire the officer, John Bewley, earlier this year. But he appealed the firing, and last November an administrative judge found that D.C. didn't properly consider his merits as an officer and what sanctions had come from similar cases.

Interesting: @MayorBowser wants to move $5.5 million from @OUC_DC and the D.C. Department of Corrections to @DCPoliceDept to cover overtime pay for officers. (This is part of a broader reprogramming of money in the FY25 budget to pay for overtime spending.)

Finally got an update from @DDOTDC on the Grant Circle redesign: looks like construction will start any day now + will be in 2 phases. Phase 1 (starting August 2025) will last 2 months and Phase 2 (starting spring 2026) will last 6 months. Can’t wait to see the final result! 🥳
