The value of most college degrees is rapidly approaching $0.00.
80% of the degrees are completely useless. It doesn’t provide job training. It is barely educational.
There are a few exceptions such as medicine, engineering, etc.
It seems like 80% of universities should close.
We have too many people who are wasting years of their life going into debt for worthless degrees.
@JustMe7176@WallStreetMav THIS! Is it. Bingo. College is still right for the highly academic straight A top test school students. It was the “everyone should go to college “ crowd pushing C avg kids there that created the issue.
@WallStreetMav College was not meant for everyone.
College used to be hard; it weeded out those not dedicated or capable of maturing, mastering, self-regulating.
Now, most graduates leave college as immature and ignorant as when they started.
That's why degrees mean nothing.
@WallStreetMav I currently work in the trades. I haven’t been tasked with a job in weeks because we keep being undercut by foreigners. They only send us in when a job is on a tight timeline or has been completed screwed up by the low bidders.
@Mystisith@WallStreetMav Good for you but as a Gen X my degree and my husbands have provided us significant ROI. Way more than trades or working without the degree.
@WallStreetMav They were useless decades ago. But weve been keeping them on life support for the good of society for decades. Working on commission is best thing that ever happened to my skills and self esteem
@CChambers911@WallStreetMav Be careful with community college then university. Community college coursework significantly lacking in rigor. Can be a tough transition.
@WallStreetMav I have a 16 year old. I’m seriously pondering not sending them to college…
I have a 529 savings plan since they were born I’ll just liquidate and start a business for them.
At the minimum, it’s community college first
The reason there will be no ‘fuel crisis’ in the Netherlands is that every town, city, & village in the land is connected by fully-segregated cycle lanes.
It’s possible for the Dutch to simply stop driving while fuel is short and prices are high.
That’s real energy resilience.
1/ WATCH: Cole Allen in his own words…
The California computer scientist, 31, accused of opening fire at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner isn’t just any would-be killer — he is an elite-trained engineer from Caltech, where students with perfect SAT scores gain admission.
And now — in a new @FoxNews Digital story with my colleague @pmd_reports — I’ve unearthed a video of him from 2017 speaking publicly about…yes, creating brakes for wheelchairs to make life easier for seniors.

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooter was armed with a shotgun, handgun, and multiple knives, according to DC police chief Jeffrey Carroll.
The shooter was identified as 31-year-old teacher Cole Allen from Torrance, California.
The suspect emerged from a "makeshift room" near the entrance, where "there was no security" near where bar carts were stored, according to the New York Post.
"He was in that room... he grabbed it out of a bag or something." The weapon "was long" and "didn’t look like a typical gun," a witness who was a volunteer at the event told the Post.
It is reportedly believed that Allen was a guest at the Hilton hotel where the dinner took place.
@WeWillBeFree24 Just stop it there is a huge age difference and they were making sure moving Trump was clear. This nonsense conspiracy stuff is stupid.
THIS is the man being identified…
31-year-old teacher Cole Allen from California - accused of showing up armed and seeking violence at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Let that sink in.
How long before this gets brushed off or downplayed?
At what point do we actually confront the problem instead of ignoring it?

Most college degrees, in terms of ROI, are worthless and have been well before AI was a thing.
The ones that were high ROI before AI are still high ROI today. AI hasn't really changed much in that regard. AI is predominantly a force multiplier for experts.
In some domains, college is still the most effective way to develop foundational expertise.
So really, pursuing a high ROI degree is still one of the best things a young person can do IF they take it seriously and show up to do the work.
