I like the implication that people think Cregger is “using” the Resident Evil name just to sell an original horror movie. Ignoring that Barbarian and Weapons are successes on their own, the average movie goer associates Resident Evil with the worst movies ever made.

@OnlyWaifu Because a 1:1 adaptation would suck ass and leave the director no creative freedom. You just need the basic premise of Umbrella and the vibes from the games to make a good adaptation
In terms of vibes this teaser is closer to the games than the CGI abominations from Capcom

I’m sold. Just from what we see here I can tell it understands and speaks the language of the game without leaning on iconography. If you’re asking “where’s Leon?” or “where’s Wesker?” you probably want a picture book instead of a movie.

@mediumugly217 RE has entirely 1 actual attempt at a live action adapatation (low budget), and there's been 30 other orginal projects with the Resident Evil IP slapped on it for name recognition. IP literally has no respect from people like you and Hollywood, no wonder fans are unhappy
