@ridd_design @Danielgbright @disco_lu At the end of the day, design systems are limited by their output. I think they will start to look more and more a like, within DS meant for HTML, Video, etc.

@Danielgbright @disco_lu at this point kinda feels like very few things will look and feel the same as they were for the past ten years or so 😅

This is getting wild. You can now generate 3d assets (and more) with Spline’s new product Omma.

🚨 OpenAI spent $1 billion on Sora.. got Disney as a partner.. crossed a million downloads.. and now they're killing it.. they're folding it back into ChatGPT.. because Sam Altman doesn't want two apps.. he wants one everything app.. Sora didn't fail.. it worked too well as a feature and not well enough as a product.. in AI your product doesn't need to fail to die.. it just needs to be worth more as a button inside something bigger.

JUST IN: OpenAI is planning to discontinue the app for its Sora video platform, per WSJ

@jordanphughes @deebovv @UntitledUI Amazing update! Especially love the color optimization and the MCP support! It's also liek you were reading my mind. I had created a custom Filter UI which I really like and will stick with, be we were thinking alike with the panel and [Add Filter] UI.

@tim_cook Curious where people land on this. Are these new buyers switching because Windows is actively getting worse, or is Apple’s marketing just unbeatable? A. Windows failing B. Apple marketing

@DannPetty Even though I can skip figma, I still get in there & wireframe for ultra-fast solo projects. For enterprise work, designing great patterns for AI to consume (#Claude and @Figma Make) is a massive time saver.

Stop telling new designers to skip Figma. It’s still the industry standard. That advice will cost someone a job.

@ridd_design @disco_lu @figma My vision is that design systems will become more vital than ever, but designers won’t be the ones building them. Designers will provide the creative intent to vibe-coding tools, while AI handles building and updating the system in the background.

the world of design systems has been flipped upside down w/ AI so I asked @disco_lu to share the trends he's noticing as a designer advocate at @figma and what it all means for teams today👇 youtube.com/watch?v=Pn2G7J…

@socoloffalex Cuts both ways, right? Design or code. Especially code. At this point, AI does so many things so well, especially when trained, that I think everyone who is doing what you say is doing it out of their own insecurity. AI will just be another tool we all use to do all the things.

Can someone please explain me why everyone is so obsessed with ripping designers, like AI can do a lot of other things (poorly but can) Leave us a lone and go find some better things to do, touch some grass or go fuck yourself for example.

@intro They light up when discussing aspects of the role. Have a sense of confidence. There is energy. You get a sense that they would fit right in. Sometimes, they've done a lot on their own - take courses, built things for fun, etc.

The MacBook Neo is kind of like the iPhone mini. The same folks praising it all over social media are the ones who would never trade in their Pro for it. It’s clearly the best $600 laptop on the market - but few are going to switch away from the high-end. It’s about new buyers.

OK, I've made a decision. After assessing a sample set of tints and ahades & comparing APCA to WCAG, if the APCA value is 60+ I will use the color for body text especially if WCAG is AAA. What do you think? #a11y #figma #designsystems

Tried out @paper - It's like Figma. It has an MCP so you can connect it to an Agent and it can both push and pull design details and data in/out of it. Makes a ton of sense when your design app can pull real data from your database, or act on a ticket. It seems like it's built with HTML/CSS, so the heavy use of flex/grid to align stuff makes it easier to implement a design for the web. For some reason I thought it had some secret sauce that made your designs good though. You still need talent for that
