@solarpunkdao The world definitely needs more utility/purpose based currencies but this will likely be near impossible unless a) Governments allow them or b) The people (all of them at the same time) demand it and ignore the governments.

@solarpunkdao Stablecoins have found utility, especially in countries that have a need for currency that doesn't hyperinflate but primarily because it is obvious what they represent and are inherently stable. Other coins/tokens (other than Meme coins) are harder to understand so less traction.

Why has crypto not been able to create new unit of values other than L1 native tokens (Btc, Eth) ??

Sharing my top up experience with @gnosispay today. given i don't have native tokens on gnosis chain + the liquidity to direct bridge & swap between any tokens to @monerium GBPe is poor + i have xdai as gas fees in my gnosis address Step 1: Use @jumperapp to bridge and swap USDT on BSC to USDC on @gnosischain. Step 2: Use @CoWSwap to swap USDC on gnosischain to GBPe on gnosischain. Step 3: Transfer the GBPe on my gnosis address to @gnosispay address. During the processes, I paid ~23 USD as trx fees. I'm happy with the UX. If the liquidity for GBPe improves, that would be even better!

@LearnBTC101 @PeterMcCormack A public ledger for all public spending would be a good start. I would really like to see where the money goes. Public debates with decentralised voting for percentages of capital allocated to each of the major services and for large spends.

@PeterMcCormack Honest question - how can we have rule of law without some level of government and taxation? If taxation is optional, then how do we fund the institutions that protect us, our property from theft, etc?
