Good morning #Vancouver !! We had a very subdued NYE with friends and I snuck away yesterday to Vancouver. Some amazing Auroras over Greenland 🇬🇱 on the flight last night (pics later). A slow day in the City and then back home overnight to #London. Where I have a day off then off to San Diego. A busy start to 2025. How’s your year been so far ?

A pictures of the sky from last night. The low sun causing some weird effects as it dipped below the horizon. Some very mild northern lights blanketing the entire horizon with a kaleidoscope of colours. And a black pic that shows the moon, an aircraft, and boat on surface as well as a clear sky full of stars. You have to zoom in to appreciate it. I’m always in awe of our planet and the vast darkness of space when there’s no cultural lighting to spoil it. It’s 5th July 2004 and G-BNLJ is in Johannesburg. No passengers, as due to a fuel strike in Cape Town a shuttle flight was run from CPT to JNB to obtain fuel for the CPT-LHR later that evening. Thanks to Ian Hollingworth and the flight crew of BA9159 for the photos!
