Zeinab Faraj, a freelance photojournalist also working with the paper, was seriously wounded and evacuated to a hospital under Israeli fire. Efforts to reach Khalil were impeded by continued strikes and direct fire, with a senior Lebanese army official telling Reuters that an Israeli drone dropped a grenade on rescue workers, while a Red Cross vehicle also came under fire.
