It's crazy to me to think that the Zero Hour exotic mission was funded by the Whisper of the Worm ornament sales in Eververse during some of the lowest periods in Destiny, yet for years upon years between Beyond Light & Lightfall when playercounts were consistently higher, we never got anything else like this that was "free" unless you count Into the Light. Where did all that money go to? Oh yeah.. Marathon and multiple cancelled incubation projects. My bad.

@prehistorickyle @SupernovaSmith @DivideGaming21 This is how extraction games work, they dont have a strong player retention because of the gameplay loop. Look at Arc Raiders, it peaked at 481k because of hype and no hate from the media, now its at 50k players, losing around 90% of its players.

@DivideGaming21 But if that's the reason, why does the destiny community still support destiny while hating marathon? Both games came from the same company, and most of the issues you listed were already known long before Marathon was announced.

It failed because people don't trust a company that stole art, lied to players for years, scammed them of their money with wild microtransactions, and because of terrible leadership decisions. Had it shipped on time and didn't have all those issues with a thriving destiny community, it would have likely done much better.

I was ready to genuinely take this to the ground because of the idea that “why should i ever feel bad being rude to someone who’s a piece of shit”. After some reflection, the thought occurred to me, “do i really want to go as low as him though?” and the answer was no. I said what I said because I personally think there is no scenario that a friend group chooses the side of a fiancé that cheats. I can’t even fathom friends siding with a cheater. However, would I have brought it up if I knew he was suicidal because of it? no. I admitted it in the previous tweets so why didn’t I apologize? “because he’s this and that and blah” but I thought about it and that kinda ideology is quite harmful. I knew it was wrong and I admitted that twice but I didn’t apologize So after reflection, I am sorry. I’m sorry for bringing up a memory that made someone suicidal. It was a low blow even if I didn’t know regardless of whether he was intentionally being a piece of shit. I don’t want to stoop to his level. I rather be better and learn from my mistakes 🧡
