The DSA part of this is just flat-out wrong. You once said Oct. 7 would kill them, and the opposite is true. They want to Zohran Mamdani to succeed but they were winning far more than they were losing before he arrived. They're going to probably win a lot this June.

My cynical take on Mamdani is that he knows he won purely on demographics (age more than race/religion), charisma, luck (terrible opponents), and he well knew when he was winning based on those demographics that his programs themselves didn't make any sense, and so he's basically ditching them or moderating them one by one. He also knows that without him, DSA is nothing -- they are expendable.

In conclusion, I don't see anything in this piece that changes my priors on this race much. But it's an interesting signal that everyone is starting to open up hostilities for real. We have three more months, so buckle up! 7/7
