While Mass Effect 3 resolved terribly, the real culprit to killing the franchise is ME2, which wasted a whole game on a functional side quest instead of building up the Reaper Invasion (relegated to a dlc) and more importantly, how to stop the Reapers.

In our country, we have leftists. They don't like anyone but the government to have guns.
Every time someone suggests a gun restriction over here, leftists in government design it in such a way as to make it as difficult as possible to buy a gun.
If you, for example, allowed an intelligence test as a requirement, they would give the test once a month, at a testing facility one hundred miles from most people, require a new test for every gun, charge 80,000 yen to take the test, take six months to score it, and maintain government lists of every person who ever passed the test, because they might have guns.
I know you intended no rudeness, but please don't suggest things like this. The right of people to keep and bear arms is one of our most fundamental values, and it is under attack.
