@2wheelsgoodBrum To be fair I wouldn’t do this, if there’s cars behind and the road is narrow I go on the pavement. Don’t trust the car drivers not to hit me.

Why cyclists are taught to ride in primary position in the main flow of traffic: So we can see and be seen So we can communicate it’s not currently safe to pass So we have room on the road to avoid a collision It’s all about the safety of cyclists on the road. 1/2

@AndyBurnhamGM @BeeNetwork We need free travel to school for schoolchildren, like London. I currently pay £28 a month for my child to go to school by tram.9 mins journey. We drop her by car at the tram stop, there is a bus but that would add £2 a day more. Traffic would vanish if kids travelled free.

We know how much older people appreciated the lifting of the 9.30am rule on bus passes in August. Following the success of that trial, we will now conduct another in November before making a final decision. Vital that the @BeeNetwork brings benefits for people of all ages. 👍🏻

@miriam_riviera @Boenau I ride a bike every day and only ever wear dresses. Not had any issue with things flying up. Also have a basket which is big enough to carry loads.

Not really , you can’t carry anything on them. You can’t dress the way you want, I wrote a bike for years pebbles, rocks, tar all kinds of things flew up on my pants, and of course you have no idea about wearing a dress riding a bike something I wouldn’t do if you paid me $1 million.

@WalkRideGM @TomWRoss @aidanjwilliams I moved to Sale 2 years ago. Previously lived in Hulme without a car, my daughter and I cycled everywhere. Now she doesn’t cycle at all and I cycle a lot less. The cycle lanes near me are either nonexistent or full of parked cars. So we go by car, like everyone else. Shame.

@AndyBurnhamGM @BeeNetwork Can you increase the frequency and reliability of the 41 bus please. It’s the only bus that links Sale Moor to Manchester and university and hospitals and North Manchester. But it’s very unreliable. I’ve waited 45 minutes before.

We started the week by integrating buses and trams into a single tap-and-go system. We end it by confirming our plan to add eight rail lines into the @BeeNetwork - starting next year. news.tfgm.com/press-releases…

Contactless tap and go has arrived on #BeeNetwork buses and trams! If you are using a travel pass of any kind, digital or physical, be extra careful. To avoid getting charged twice, separate any contactless payment cards from your device or wallet where you keep your travel pass. Find out more: beenetwork.com/tap-go

@BeeNetwork @AndyBurnhamGM Also, could some services need to be increased? Trams towards altrincham are bursting full in the mornings, so many schools in Alty, could there be more trams? More double trams?

@BeeNetwork @AndyBurnhamGM This is great. But what about everyone who lives somewhere where there is a terrible bus service? The 41 is a joke. I’ve waited over 45 minutes for one before and two times had to resort to getting taxis. I’ve given up on using it now.

@BeeNetwork Great news. Can I suggest as a start there could be safe cycling routes in sale and sale moor. I’m sure lots of people would like to cycle in this area or from sale moor to sale water park, or even to Chorlton where they could join the safe cycling routes already there

@NFBUK @TfL @MayorofLondon The other alternative is the cyclist has to pass the bus on the right side. This leaves a big chance the bus will pull out and hit them.

@ediz1975 Sorry to hear that. I cycle on a shared space and make sure I pass pedestrians at about 1mph. It’s not nice to feel scared when traveling. As a cyclist he should have known that, as cars do it all the time.

This is a shared space ….. A cyclist came speeding passed me around 50cm away from me ….. I shouted that it was a very close pass to me …. The cyclist stopped and swore at me stating I should move out the way … I then stated I have priority as a pedestrian…. I quote him “I give a fi@&” Cycling hooliganism

@AndyBurnhamGM My suggestion would be to look at all buses and see which are too infrequent or unreliable. I always like using public transport in London and abroad because you know it’s going to be quick and reliable. Which sadly isn’t the case in Manchester yet.

@AndyBurnhamGM @PavelBogdashov Does that mean people can pay once for the tram and bus? Also an idea… get a frequent bus between nearby tram stops. Eg Northern moor to sale. Crazy that you have to change at Trafford bar if you want to go eg from Wythenshawe to Alty.
