@YahooSchwab Hey Frank, let's start our Fantasy Footballs drafts now! In fact, we probably should have started weeks ago... 😀

People who pull one throw, albeit a great throw, and use the adage, “Not many guys can make this throw” to describe a player as a whole… drives me crazy! Outside of a “crazy” off-balance or 70 yrd throw… ALL the QBs coming out of college could make that throw 1 time!! Show me the player make that throw 10x in a season & now you’ve got something! We so want to make a definitive statement about someone to prove we know stuff… bottom line is the best QB in this draft will be the one who plays the position most consistently for next 15 yrs, not the one that makes more throws “not many guys can make”!

I often find it humorous when ppl tell us how much “height” of a QB affects one’s ability to “see” the field!! Bc too often we are asking the WRONG questions on these types of things! Bottom line is, only the QB truly knows how much it affects them & just bc you have no problem physically seeing the defense, it has no bearing on if you can truly “see” (read) the defense! There is also something to what height do you play at - maybe this would be a great NEW weight to MEASURE the height of a QB - some QBs play with more or less knee bend, so a 6’4 QB could play like a 6’2 guy or a 6’0 guy play like a 6’2 based on their stance in the pocket! I was barely over 6’1 1/2 & I rarely (I believe all QBs are shielded at times) had a vision problem when playing in the NFL & I felt I could “see” the defense as well as anyone who ever played! Drew Brees is considerably shorter than me & he could “see” the field as well as anyone who ever played the game! My son @elijah13warner is 6’0 foot and I would put his ability to see the field up against anyone in college football based off watching every one of his snaps and MORE importantly asking him what he saw on each play!! So does height play a role in physically seeing at times - I’m sure it does! Is there a cut off line - maybe, but only shorter QBs could tell you that - bc I’ve seen many guys shorter than me “see” the field really well! And more than anything what I want to know is if a QB can “see” the field - see it physically and more importantly process what they see mentally - and for me it’s pretty easy to tell when watching tape who can “see” it and who can’t! The only question that remains is who can’t see it bc they are blocked physically and who can’t see it bc they are blocked mentally!

@BenGoessling How did the Blake Brandel starting center stint really go last year start to finish? Could he be the full time starter?

@YahooSchwab It is/was a beautiful plan! I cheered the oline guys from the colts but the defensive tackles I was never quite sold on. Those signings seemed unnecessary.

@DanBarreiroKFAN Maybe the Vikes want Bryzezinski to take the gm job since he will have seniority on KOC instead of bringing in a new guy that would basically be working for KOC.

@drosssports @VSiNLive I mean, if you think a kicker who didn't make a FG longer than 41 yards was the best or anywhere near most valuable player in that game ...

@YahooSchwab @electricsnuff The Wilfs don’t seem vindictive in that way. But, if that is the reason for the timing then there was a WHOLE LOT of bad blood and yes, unprofessional.

@wanderingdpldpl @electricsnuff Not sure about the offset language. But basically blocking him from getting another job this season - if they knew this was happening - is a pretty bad thing to do, he deserved better imo

No major NFL decision is based on one thing, even something like getting a QB decision wrong. But it's also hard to separate the Vikings firing GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah as Sam Darnold gets ready for Super Bowl LX. sports.yahoo.com/nfl/article/sa…

@nacholeber To me this explains everything. From the very beginning, something was off with the 2025 Vikings. They seemed generally disinterested. They all knew JJ wasn’t ready except Kwesi and apparently the Wilfs. The Wilfs must have backed Kwesi up at the time, right?

"No one was suggesting, 'Kwesi this or Kwesi that.' We are in touch with everyone in the building, sensing the dynamic, how people work together.” This quote from Mark Wilf simplifies the situation for me. As coaches can lose a locker room, I think Kwesi lost the team.

@YahooSchwab @electricsnuff Why would they care? Actually wouldn’t it be good financially if Kwesi got another job right away? Wouldn’t they save money on the contract he just signed? I’ll admit, the timing is weird.

@YahooSchwab Todd Monken, that poor bastard. And they alienated Jim Schwartz… Very nice.

Sota Sports Roundup 1-9-26 JJ McCarthy thinks he earned the right to be the @Vikings starting QB in 2026 and says he’s “content” with where he’s at in his career. Really dude? Wake up! Get the memo! And more, including Extra Points and Vick’s Picks. sotasportsroundup.substack.com/p/wake-up-jj-g…

@YahooSchwab They had a lot of injuries last year and finished 6-11. What did they figure out? Anything?

Everyone was talking about Philip Rivers, and that's understandable. You might have missed another cool story: The 49ers have overcome major injury issues to build an 11-4 record, and are still alive for the NFC West title and No. 1 seed in the conference. sports.yahoo.com/nfl/live/49ers…
