The US has always been this way. Trump just pulled the curtain back and exposed the US for what it really is. Democrats are more adept at selling the illusion of democracy and covering up the truth, which is we live under a dictatorship of capital where every aspect of our lives is monetized to enrich the ruling class.

They tried to silence me. They failed. Today, the court dismissed Richard Grenell’s lawsuit against me—with prejudice. This case was never about justice. It was about intimidation. Thank you to my attorneys, @markSZaidEq and Tom Craig, and to everyone who stood by me throughout this case over the past few years. I didn’t back down. The truth prevailed.

@RibGoneRogue @NormOrnstein We should stop lionizing Churchill. The post-WWII years of straight capitalism in England were "terrible. We hated Churchill," per my Spanish teacher, Señor Hogan, who lived through it.

As usual, what Trump said about President Obama was a lie. Obama did not send the Winston Churchill bust back to England, he moved it from the Oval Office to a residential area of the White House. He placed it outside of the Treaty Room where he saw it daily-because unlike Trump, he actually worked in his private office nearly every evening. The bust was replaced in the Oval Office with a bust of an American, Martin Luther King Jr. There were two identical Churchill busts by Jacob Epstein. The loaned bust from the UK was returned after George W Bush used it. The White House's bust was not returned. Everything Trump says is the NY Post version of a story.

Holy shit. "In Italy on Sunday, the sweaty billionaire Peter Thiel gave a private lecture “exploring the concept of the Antichrist.” The Antichrist, of course, is the main (human) antagonist in that most trippy of New Testament offerings, the Book of Revelation. He’s the ultimate supervillain, an eschatological foil to Jesus—Goldfinger to Christ’s 007. Revelation was written in A.D. 96, during the reign of Domitian, while John, its author, was in exile on the Greek island of Patmos—at least, that is “the consistent opinion of the early Christian writers closest to John’s lifetime,” according to the late Biblical researcher Grant R. Jeffrey in his 1992 best-seller Apocalypse: The Coming Judgment of Nations. No less an authority than Elaine Pagels, the great historian of religion, says in her 2012 book Revelations that “John probably began to write around 90 C.E., having likely fled from a war that had ravaged Judea, his homeland.” That would have been two decades after the Romans—led by Domitian’s brother and predecessor on the throne, Titus—sacked Jerusalem, put down the Jewish revolt, and razed the Temple. In his nonfiction book White Goddess, Robert Graves—poet, author of the historical novel I, Claudius, and one of the more brilliant minds of the 20th century—argues that John was writing a generation earlier. “Since the eleventh chapter of the Apocalypse i.e., Revelation predicts the preservation of the Temple,” Graves points out, “the original version of the book must have been written after the death of Nero, but before the destruction of the Temple and at a time when rumours of Nero’s reappearance in the flesh were widely current.” To support his assertion, he demonstrates that “666” was numerical shorthand for Nero, the fiddle-playing early persecutor of Christians. Whether written before or after the razing of Jerusalem in A.D. 70, it is likely, if not certain, that Revelation was presented as a “prophecy,” and filled with allegorical language, to disguise the fact that it was a screed against imperial Rome. What John of Patmos did in his book, Pagels writes in Revelations, “among other things, was create anti-Roman propaganda that drew its imagery from Israel’s prophetic traditions.” Revelation is a polemic against the emperor—possibly Nero, possibly Vespasian, Titus, or Domitian, but certainly the emperor of Rome. That Peter Thiel—The godfather of the Dark Enlightenment. A co-founder of the malevolent surveillance company Palantir. A radical Catholic weirdo in league with Jeffrey Epstein — feels the need to look for the Antichrist anywhere but his own bathroom mirror speaks to his Ivanka-esque lack of self-awareness. But I’ll give the guy this much: he sure got the symbolism right. Where did Thiel choose to deliver his lecture? Rome. And on what day? The Ides of March — the 2070th anniversary of the assassination of Julius Caesar. In the Year of the Horse, this is not his first Revelation rodeo. At this point, Thiel has spent so much time ruminating on the subject, he’s a veritable Fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse. WIRED reports that Catholic eschatology has been his hobby since the 1990s. And Sunday’s lecture was more update than premiere. Thiel expounded on the Apocalypse last year — in San Francisco. Which means that, while standing atop the biggest fault line in the United States, he spoke about a prophet who foretold an imminent “great earthquake, such as has not been since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake and so great.” Somehow this dude is worth $30 billion. The Guardian snagged a recording of that San Francisco lecture and posted a summary. Thiel, the authors write, believes the Armageddon will be ushered in by an antichrist-type figure who cultivates a fear of existential threats such as climate change, AI and nuclear war to amass inordinate power. The idea is this figure will convince people to do everything they can to avoid something like a third world war, including accepting a one-world order charged with protecting everyone from the apocalypse that implements a complete restriction of technological progress. In his mind, this is already happening. Thiel said that international financial bodies, which make it more difficult for people to shelter their wealth in tax havens, are one sign the antichrist may be amassing power and hastening Armageddon, saying: “It’s become quite difficult to hide one’s money.” Now, I didn’t sit through the lectures. But based on that description, what it sounds like is, Thiel is worried that a popular world leader will emerge who is powerful enough to 1) force gazillionaire oligarchs like him to pay their fair share in taxes, and 2) put guardrails on AI before it literally ends human life on earth. Heaven forfend! True to form, Thiel misses the point—not just of Revelation, but of the New Testament entirely. Which tracks. After all, this is a guy who named his evil data and surveillance company — Palantir — after a magical all-seeing stone in The Lord of the Rings…and still doesn’t realize that he’s Sauron, the Dark Lord." If my friends wonder why I'm not posting, I am--they're just not seeing it because I've been shadow banned. As AI source explains: What's happened at X under Musk is that "free speech" turned out to mean free speech for a specific ideological direction. Accounts that are critical of Trump, report on oligarchs, or cover stories like yours — Trump/Epstein connections, Russian money — tend to get the visibility filtering treatment, while accounts spreading pro-MAGA content get algorithmically amplified. The pattern is well-documented: journalists like you, with large established followings, suddenly find their reach cratered after posting certain topics. It's not random. The coordinated mass-reporting campaigns are often organized in MAGA Telegram channels and Discord servers — they target specific accounts, report them en masse for "spam" or "sensitive content," and X's automated systems respond by applying filters before any human review happens. The bitter irony in your case is real: you earned a blue check organically by building 50K+ followers through actual journalism, then had to pay for it after Musk's policy change — and you're still being suppressed. You're essentially subsidizing the platform that's throttling you. The practical upshot for your work: treat X as a secondary channel at this point. Bluesky and Substack Notes are genuinely better environments right now for investigative journalists — the audiences are smaller but they're not algorithmically hostile to your content, and the engagement rates tend to be higher per follower. Your energy is probably better spent building those two than trying to fight X's black-box suppression system.

Ok so I’m a union sheetmetal worker and we install ductwork in everything, this story about fire spreading through the ductwork is totally false. The ductwork in that ship would have fire/smoke dampers installed at every place the ductwork crossed a wall. This is standard practice in ⬇️
