@augmentcode given this pricing change, please do add cheaper models for those who don't have enterprise sponsoring us 🙏 although that means we fall outside of your main target audience 😅🤞

@augmentcode This change was long overdue and will make Augment more flexible and ultimately more powerful. Don’t listen to any “roll over” or other demands. Message based is obviously going away. Looking forward to seeing what you’ll do with models going forward.

@augmentcode Well. It seems the "cloud offerings" are slowly killing themselves. In a sense it's good news, that will motivate people to use local-first options. I'll definitely miss AugmentCode.

@augmentcode The new pricing makes no sense for Dev Legacy customers. I did not use Augment code for a few months but still keeping my plan due to being in the grandfather plan. Now, with the new cost model, Dev Legacy plan gets the least credits per $. Please reconsider.

@augmentcode This punishes early adopters, effectively killing the grandfathered plan, IMO there’s no value staying as a long term subscriber anymore and will get me to evaluate how well the alternatives compare nowadays

@augmentcode Classic rug pull with the excuse of being "fair". If you really care fairness, why don't you rollover the monthly credits? Is it fair stealing away something people already paid for? How we gonna know that your calculation is stable? What if you "adjust" it and we have no idea?

@augmentcode Not cool. This is a significant cost increase for indie developers. Plus, they've changed their plans twice in under a year. I hate token based systems because errors are very common, and retrying costs us. I felt good using Augment but I will cancel it and try an alternative.

Just canceled. Feels like Cursor all over again. I'm happy to pay for a good product where the cost and value align, and the company is transparent and honest in its communications, valuing me as a customer. However, my trust and praise for Augment Code just died due to your way of communicating and trying to justify this change.

@augmentcode I recommended and referred multiple devs to your company. I found different tools I prefer months ago but planned to keep the $30 "Legacy" Developer plan indefinitely. I'm canceling my sub with this announcement and won't look back 👋

@augmentcode Very disappointing. Your pricing seems 90% wrong before this announcement, and other options are now viable. As a big fan of your work, I'm unsure how you stay competitive with Claude Code or Codex. As a legacy user, I'm sad to say I'm likely seeking alternatives.

@augmentcode You were advertising your user prompt based pricing model as simple etc. first you introduced the idea that 1 user prompt is not unlimited, then you move to a much more complicated pricing model, basically it feels like you got everyone hooked and now let us down. Not impressed

You say the old approach wasn't transparent for developers, yet we knew exactly what we were getting and paying for anytime we pressed enter. That was part of augments charm overall. I knew when I was paying more for a simple change by seeing it complete near instantly but charging the same cost. I knew when I was getting a lot for my money when it would work for 10 minutes on a single prompt. Now I fear it will feel like all others, nickle and dimed to maximize profits

@augmentcode Thank you for announcing this in advance and being somewhat transparent about new pricing. I must say however that new credit system feels like a significant cut of usage you are offering and I am not sure this new pricing is competitive considering Claude Code and Codex exist

@augmentcode I currently pay 50 USD and use around 300 queries. I don't overload the system, my queries are evenly distributed over the subscription period. After the change, I will have to pay around 250 USD. Why should I be penalized because someone else is using it excessively?

@augmentcode A "small task" should be like 70 API credits, certainly less than 100 (to almost match new limits). In your example, it's 293... this means that EVERYONE will get substantially less usage than they had previously. It's worse for literally every single customer in every way.

@augmentcode Lol, this will be my last month using it. This credit pricing is unfair.

@augmentcode I understand the need to adjust the pricing, but the $30 plan was supposed to be a discount over the standard $50 plan. Now it barely gives a little more credits than the $20 one. Essentially, you removed this benefit for early adopters, which makes me disappointed on you.

@augmentcode Each prompt was 0.08$ now for a medium request we have to pay 0.4!!! X5 in medium tasks X2 in small WTF

@augmentcode You are digging your own grave. This change is NOT FAIR. I will cancel my subscription and switch providers. I remained loyal to you because I celebrated your vision, but all these changes are simply “changes to extract more money from customers.”

@augmentcode in $50 plan i got 600 messages but now with new plan if i do complex task and use internal tool then it cost around 4000 credit it means 96000/4000 = 24 messages only. this is not good at all

@augmentcode Wait, new pricing gives legacy dev plans fewer credits than current ones? Unfair! I love your tool, ideas, and always recommend it. But it feels unappreciated that loyal legacy users, who once had similar benefits, are now disadvantaged. Maybe i need move to other tool.

@augmentcode A long time augment code user and a fan. Though my company pays for the plan, I'll be surely looking/testing other providers as this seems very bad. As a company, customer retention is a must and this move seems opposite to that. I really hope this should not be a downfall.
