The case for an amendment to fix this will ONLY happen if the data based on government calculations were incorrect and far larger numbers of family farming businesses are now at risk of ending than they previously predicted. I speak here as a tax payer; land owner and a farmer.

@1robward One may argue that the original intention was to protect family farms from breakup.Labour MPs may not be as sympathetic towards more corporate enterprises. Expect business rates on farm buildings. Maybe at a lower rate initially but councils will be out surveying farms soon.

Farmers be careful what you wish for. Probably unusually, I’ve been a farmer (soft fruit) supplying supermarkets, agent buying from farmers and working for with the supermarkets. Selective market intervention rarely produces the result it is intended to achieve @JoeWStanley
