Sacked for telling the truth. I have read the report from the DfE and it is disgraceful. A good teacher has been struck off for holding very normal, common-sense views. Civil servants in Westminster would faint if they met someone from Darlington or Middlesbrough. They are completely detached from reality. I hope Mr Everett appeals and is successful.

Its inevitable that the UK will eventually become quasi Islamic, especially by 2100, the huge birth rate will see to that.

There are plenty of teachers that hold right wing opinions, with whom I am also good friends. It's the manner of his inappropriate conduct in public, which is the issue. Legal, but unprofessional.

@TimothyTim34892 @SuellaBraverman No, it's not incompatible at all. You're comparing apples with eggs. Think about a teacher always seen getting drunk in public. Totally legal, but also unprofessional. The school would be well within their rights to sack them for professional misconduct.

@ACT2CAM @SuellaBraverman Yes, because the professional standards are illegal. The Department of Education has breached section 6(1) of the Human Rights Act 1998. “It is unlawful for a public authority to act in a way which is incompatible with a Convention right.”

It's not a freedom of speech issue, is it? Not sure why you brought it up, tbh. We do very good trees, I'll have you know!

Some believe the UK would be better with it. Islam is as much political as religious, it impacts on most aspects of life, it's v clever and controlling

The other events are more festive and performative, while last night's included a formal, obligatory congregational prayer that visually and audibly dominated the space for that brief period. That’s the difference.

@LostTransport @DrDJWilde @SuellaBraverman The "dog" in this case knows about dogs. the "kennels" have a broader view. The "kennel oversight body" makes the final decision. Think I got that right :) Yeah, it's not perfect, but it'd got the right cheks and balances, I think. He's got no chance at appeal, IMO.
