@WhamBaamX This is why you need to show down and use rear fog lights, madness that they aren't required in the US

@eivissacopter Strange that the Model S Plaid can't tow as every example that came to the UK from Europe had the tow package fitted as standard for 1600kg. It's also a shame it's not 1850kg as that would allow a lot more trailers and caravans given 0.85 ratio from 2183kg curb weight.

My 2ct in regards to the S/X 2026 launch in 🇪🇺 ▶️Contrary to some reports I don't see any technical changes to the 3D1/3D8/5D1 DU rotors. ▶️Model S Plaid can't have a tow hitch (I warned about this recently). ▶️👉Model S LR can tow 1600kg!👈 This will likely come as SEC retrofit.

I was really impressed with this fully electric 3 phase barn conversion AirBNB in rural France that even has fibre internet until I saw the random choc block connector coming out of the bathroom wall into the kitchen that was live @ArtElectrics. I still find bathroom sockets odd!

@MikeRadio @TeslaSoftUpdate Use the usb drive in the glovebox to get all the clips and camera angles, and much better quality than via the phone. I remove the drive weekly for the dashcam events. If you don't pay for the premium connectivity it's the only way to get the clips anyway.

@TeslaSoftUpdate I am glad that all cameras are now being able to be seen by century mode. But how come in the Tesla app with the clip view where you can only see four cameras and still can’t see all six which means you can’t save the other two.

@WhamBaamX @falgantil In which case the only way is to remove the trim by the passenger door and manually release it that way, it'll vary on which model and age of car it is,but there are guides online or on YouTube.

@falgantil @AaronCockerEV We get a lot of submissions where people claim they can't access the crash footage/glovebox when their car shuts down. I have never heard anyone say it opens automatically.

What's your take on this? Considering that we have the USB drive for the dashcam in the glovebox, it would be great to have some kind of fail safe to get it open?

@falgantil @WhamBaamX There are also numerous articles about this, but I can't find it mentioned in the manual. People have documented it working though.

@WhamBaamX Think it’s possible for Tesla to make a software update which makes it so the car automatically opens the glovebox if it detects a crash? I realize it doesn’t cover the scenario where the car loses power immediately. But if it stays on for just a few minutes it’d be ok.

@raimonick I spotted this too. This is common with all big papers these days, hard to find unbiased EV news, doesn't seem to be a good source in the UK.

.@AllisonPearson has shared her thoughts on the #ElectricVehicle transition in today's @Telegraph Been a while since I've seen an article with quite so many inaccuracies and unevidenced claims So, here's a not-so-little thread to debunk some of the things that have been said

@jtchivers @GunterFehlinger Agreed, although they have 16A rather than 13A though, it's usefully more power. They also have better contact with the round pins so fewer granny leads overheating.

If you want to pick a common sense design, you'd go for a demonstrably safer one, which the Type G plug is. While you're at it, have you had this conversation with the Swiss and Italians? There are only two bad things about UK plugs: 1. The amount of physical space they require. 2. They hurt like a bastard when you tread on them. youtube.com/watch?v=139Q61…

⚡️ There are 234 GW of potential Energy Storage System projects on the National Grid TEC register, many will be batteries🔋 like the ones @TeslaOwnersUK visited today. 📊 Here's the data broken down by year and project status. Data from @NationalGridESO TEC Register.

I must admit today was epic to see what the @Tesla_Megapack and @Harmony_Energy_ team are doing to support the UKs transition to sustainable energy. This one site (they have many more) provides 196MWh of battery storage, with a peak output of 98MW (this is enough to provide 300,000 homes with power for 2 hours at max load). This site stores excess wind/cheap/green power, improves our grid reliability, helps to flatten peaks of demand/excess and helps our country become less reliant on other countries or more importantly dirty limited fossil fuels. We as a country/world need far more of this tech! And it was incredible to hear @tesla provide a 20 year warranty on these LFP (Zero Cobalt) packs, they guarantee a certain level of capacity over that period and provide full support onsite when required. Many Megapack sites supposedly make a profit so quickly it’s a no brainer to install if you can and presumably cell manufacturing is the primary factor that slows these down…? Why isn’t more talked about this part of the Tesla business? Sounds like we urgently need a Tesla battery facility in the UK/Europe @elonmusk

Some very good news you probably won’t have heard about today, but could be the best thing the govt has done for EV drivers. The Public Charge Point Regs 2023 may not sound exciting, but things are about to get a lot better for EV drivers! Thread 🧵

What Rowan got wrong. The average petrol or diesel car produces around 47 tonnes of CO2 over its lifetime, including manufacture. Meanwhile, EVs average 20 tonnes less over their lifespan, battery electrochemist, @106Euan, tells @_Reya on @TimesRadio.
