I don’t have much faith in the GOP to hold that Wisconsin senate seat in 2028 so the argument of having 50, 51, or 52 senate seats after this year is pretty substantial.

They’ve been close for president in recent years but continue to vote for republican governors, republican state legislatures and down ballot republicans won by over 5 total. The only reason there’s two dem senators is luck.

So yea, it’s either he run or retire completely. I think he beats Warnock by a couple points if he runs.

There are only 6 truly competitive senate races this year and I think it's very difficult to argue for any of the others. If any other seats are lost by the favored party we are seeing a 90-95th+ percentile performance for the opposing party.
