The direct-to-cell (D2C) space race recently hit a fever pitch. $ASTS has filed a strategic move at the FCC for a 5MHz "sliver" of 2 GHz spectrum (2020-2025 MHz). It looks like a niche filing, but it’s actually a billion-dollar chess move against SpaceX. 🪓🐈‍⬛ 1/n

The last one has left Space-X. The first did so askig for new job ”in nuclear”. I wonder if Ben also went nuclear. Anyway it would be good for Starlink to move beyond patching swarm narrowband technology onto a satellite bus built for something completely different than d2c.

BOTH SWARM COFOUNDERS HAVE NOW LEFT SPACEX In an interesting move before their IPO and launch of their v2 D2D constellation, Ben Longmier has left SpaceX. This means both Swarm cofounders have left after Sara Spangelo in October 2024. Could this mean the D2D development isn't going as well as hoped? Best of luck for the future Ben! $ASTS

@ASTS_SpaceMob Exactly! Shorts saying “ they don't have customers” what are you talking about? They have billions of customers just waiting for them to turn service on. Verizon had a very successful marketing campaign based off this exact premise..” Can you hear me now?” . People want service!

This take is completely flawed. The second $ASTS has full service, it will already have access to 3bn+ potential customers due to what the MNOs are bringing. Without this brilliant partnership, $ASTS would have to market their service from the ground up, spending tons and taking away from the mission. People want full connectivity everywhere. They don’t care if it’s provided by their phone carrier or a 3rd party partner. You think Verizon customers will say “actually I don’t want satellite connectivity because it’s not Starlink”? Nope. SpaceMobile will be a household name just as Starlink is now. And even if it doesn’t take “brand recognition”, $ASTS will still thrive based off user count alone. We can also tie in that the Starlink brand-driven approach may hurt them in the long run as there are still tons of people who want nothing Elon touches. Also the take “AST Forced MNOs to come to them from a position of weakness, not the other way around.” Is funny. You don’t think the worlds top MNOs weighed all their options and choose $ASTS because it has market leading tech? This MNOs desire true full high speed connectivity just as much as AST desires users. But an MNOs not providing this service when other do, will only hurt them. The MNOs will come to need $ASTS , and they are leveraging that.

@AST_SpaceMobile white-label strategy is fundamentally flawed when measured against @Starlink brand-driven, consumer-facing model. White labeling your entire platform to carriers is the opposite of building leverage. It places all your destiny in the hands of MNOs When you’re selling a carrier a feature instead of selling a consumer a dream, you’ve already lost. Starlink did the opposite Built a global brand, not a back-end feature. Made themselves consumer indispensable, not carrier optional. Forced MNOs to come to them from a position of weakness, not the other way around. If you rely on carriers to sell your product, you’re dead. Starlink understood that. AST still hasn’t. @TMFAssociates

BLUEBIRD 6 TO UNFURL IN EARLY FEBRUARY 🤔 The next low solar flux is expected to be Feb 5-8th, previously the company have unfurled the satellites when this has happened. Could this be when the company is planning to open the array 🤔 $ASTS

One of the laziest and most common criticisms we get about $ASTS is, "It's just a meme stock." Check out our report on the #SpaceMob and why we believe it isn't like your typical meme stock👇 crossroadscap.io/insights/ast-s…

$ASTS chart below is justification for upside levels stated in below post. The longer it takes to make the upside move the higher the targets can theoretically move given the steepness of the channel. However cup breakout measured move remains $145/$150. To be clear, we need to bid above $121 on heavy volume for this setup to be put in play. *NFA

$ASTS held the cup top and 13sma yesterday and now is pushing off the 8ema. Bulls defended exactly where they needed to. It's now defined a huge range just above the cup setting it up for another leg higher imo. Looking at $130, $145, and $165 as potential key areas *NFA

$ASTS: Following the departure of Sara Spangello (Co-Head of Starlink D2C) last February, the other Co-Head, Ben Longmeier, has now also left.

I left SpaceX a little while ago to spend more time with our new baby and family. I’m really proud of the Swarm and Direct to Cell (DTC) teams for going from a clean sheet design to commercial start with many hundreds of satellites in orbit serving users on 6 continents with text and data directly to their unmodified phones. It still seems like magic that we can text family and friends through the DTC sats traveling at Mach 23 at a 700 km slant distance directly through the worst part of a hurricane. I’m excited for the world to experience what is coming in the next generation of DTC, it will be really special. I was also given a shot to re-design the satellite Hall thruster with a small focused team. We made Argon propellant viable, and in fact made it more efficient and higher Isp than all previous Krypton or Xenon flight Hall thrusters, and did so with about 10x fewer parts. There are still many plasma physics secrets to be unlocked for future thruster generations. The engineering talent density, dedication, and speed at SpaceX are the highest in the world and it was fun to work alongside so much raw horsepower. I am very grateful to @elonmusk and @Gwynne_Shotwell for treating us so well at every turn, taking a chance on our team, and trusting us to build such a big project. Obviously this is only the beginning for @SpaceX as Elon and the team continue to expand humanity’s presence to the Moon, Mars, and further along the Kardashev scale.

It is absofuckinglutely over for Canada's auto industry. This is a Chinese EV manufacturer Chery which wants to open shop in Canada, and this is one of its cars. Absolute luxury, smart interior, huge screens, 180km on pure electric and can do over 600 - 800 miles with extended range. This is just one of their models. No one even makes anything close to this in North America. Mark Carney reduced the tariffs on them to 6.1% and half need to be under $35k. They will open state of the art manufacturing facility operated by robots - not Unions, and import most of everything they need from China.

@anymanfitness You're eating the wrong cottage cheese, have Dry Curds 0% fat free. 1/4 cup (55g) has 11g of protein. That's 50 calories. So less than 500 Cal for over 100 g of protein.

A lot of foods people claim are "protein packed" aren't. Here's a helpful graphic showing you how many calories it would take to get 100 grams of protein from certain foods. What surprises you?
