⚠️Glasgow Central Station Update⚠️ Following a fire near #GlasgowCentral on Sunday 8th March, we are pleased to share that TransPennine Express will resume its normal timetable form Glasgow Central High Level on Wednesday 25th March. 🛑If you are travelling on Tuesday 24th March TransPennine Express services will still be working to a limited timetable and WILL NOT operate between Glasgow Central and #Carlisle Most Glasgow Central to #ManchesterAirport and #LiverpoolLimeStreet services will either terminate or start at Carlisle. ℹ️Please check your journey before you travel as there may be minor alterations to services due to some trains being out of position following the station closure - journeycheck.com/tpexpress/ ✅On Wednesday 25th March we will resume our normal timetable. 🚉Public safety is still the main priority so not all entrances and exits to the high level are open. An exclusion zone around the area worst affected by the fire is still in place so the entrances to the station on Gordon Street and Union Street will remain closed until further notice. Customers will be able to enter and exit the station via: - Upper Hope Street (adjacent to Waterloo Street), which reopened to customers on Sunday - The access point known as the carriage driveway, which is used during special events - The low level areas on both Hope Street and Argyle Street 🎫If you are travelling on Tuesday 24th March, you can use your ticket on the following services at no extra cost in both directions: - @AvantiWestCoast services between Glasgow Central and #Preston - Avanti West Coast services between #Edinburgh and Preston - TransPennine Express services between Edinburgh and Preston/Manchester Airport via Carlisle - @northernassist services between Preston and Manchester Airport/Liverpool Lime Street - @ScotRail services between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh Please be advised other operators are also affected by this disruption. 🎫If your journey has been affected by this disruption, tickets dated from 09/03/2026 to 24/03/2026 (inclusive) can be used to travel up to and including 26/03/2026 at no extra cost. Glasgow Central will remain closed at least into Tuesday, while @fire_scot work to contain the fire on Union Street and make the area safe. Once that’s complete, our team need to inspect the station itself for any damage. As soon as we can share more news on timescales, we will.
