Today in @Nature, we share our latest paper. We developed an algorithm to predict novel peptides cleaved by proconvertases across all human tissues. Using this method, we identified BRP, a brain-derived anti-obesity peptide. nature.com/articles/s4158…

I'm excited to share our latest collaboration with @fidocklab using mixed alkyl/aryl phosphonates to identify possible drug targets in Plasmodium. Our work offers a possible method for deciphering important drug targets, mechanism of action, and mechanisms of resistance.

Here we show that prior to 2022, the metabolite Lac-Phe was mis-annotated in @Metabolon datasets as “1-carboxyethylphenylalanine.” We use this information to identify physiologic urine Lac-Phe transporters. Incredible detective work by @veronical1411 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
