The whole country is watching, when a domineering, authoritarian force like the BJP is using all its might to target and defeat a woman, it is clear who stands where. Leaders of the INDIA alliance fighting in West Bengal are free to oppose politically or on policy, but personal attacks are never acceptable. Rahul Gandhi perhaps was too occupied to notice that even during this election season, multiple TMC leaders have faced ED raids at their homes and offices. Just because agencies like ED or CBI are acting against him, does it mean the Constitution mandates the same against everyone? Mamata is the last real defender of that classic Congress style secular politics. Once she is gone, there is nobody left. The politics of DMK is 180 degrees opposite to the politics of Congress. Rahul, Akhilesh, and Tejashwi simply do not have the guts to stand up to the massive machinery of BJP. All the shouting, drama stirring, and revolutionary cosplay does not achieve a damn thing. At the very least, Mamata deserves full credit for being a fearless warrior.
