The Secretary of Transportation just confirmed LaGuardia operates with four fewer air traffic controllers than the FAA's own target. Two pilots are dead. The FAA has been short thousands of controllers for years. Trump's answer was to DOGE hundreds of aviation safety workers.

Duffy: This airport has a target of 37 controllers at Laguardia. We have 33 controllers employed and certified at Laguardia and we have six -- seven actually in training so as our airports go, Laguardia is a very well staffed airport. We are a couple controllers short in total but it is a well staffed airport.

BREAKING: Massive explosion at the Valero Oil Refinery in Port Arthur, Texas sends towering clouds of black smoke and intense flames shooting into the sky. This is one of America’s largest oil refineries (335,000+ barrels/day capacity). Emergency crews responding with no injuries reported yet. We still don’t know the cause.

Both pilots are heroes for putting the plane down hard and extreme braking in an attempt to slow down enough knowing they were going to perish. This comes from passenger first hand accounts.
