Alex was a pledge brother of mine at Auburn and an awesome guy. This is a heartbreaking loss.

A dog grooming business with 35% margins...
We think this is about $1M overpriced.
Can you spot the problem?

@sodacitysimpson @EmpiresPod_ @mhp_guy Funny thing about that is I’d still turn down 90% of franchises if they were offered to me for free lol

An awesome business trend is forming right in front of us.
This guy grew a YT account to 6m subscribers by mowing lawns for free & posting the videos.
Here's how to copy this idea & why it works:
1. Pick a home service niche that's mesmerizing to watch, such as:
- Pool cleaning
- Vent cleaning
- Concrete stamping
- Grout cleaning
- Gutter cleaning
Pick one of the niches above and film yourself doing it.
Post a time lapse to all 3 short form video audiences.
Reverse engineer the guys doing it in pressure washing and lawn mowing. Look back at their first videos and see what they started with.
Mesmerizing to watch = people stay on your video = the platforms will push your video to a wider audience.
Why else does it work?
- Feel good aspect sells
- Before and after sells
- These types of videos drive comments
Just look at what my friend @sodacitysimpson Is doing. This strategy works.

For a long time, there have been franchisors across a lot of industries (but mainly home services) who delivered no meaningful value for franchisees. They were previously able to get away with it because 1) the home services industry at-large was on fire and 2) digital marketing was much cheaper than it is today.
So you had a bunch of franchisees paying 8% of their revenue for artwork (the logo) and a warm intro to a marketing agency. Then the tide goes out (pullback in home services spending, increase in digital marketing cost, etc) and we see who was skinny dipping.

I have only been on this app a couple years but I’m starting to see the trends change in SMB Twitter.
1-3 years ago home services franchises were hot. It seems like a lot of people regret their decisions. This hits home with me as well.

On one hand, college football really needs to get its act together. But on the other hand, I never, ever, ever want it to change.

@bradsmith Dude - that office makes me reconsider my love for working from home. Looks incredible!

I got called out yesterday for using AI to write my post. There's no AI in this one!
I need to start showing more real life stuff. As a quick intro to my new followers.
- My wife and I have been in business together for 10+ years (would you ever 😊)
- Located in Wilmington NC
- Our friend/mentor @trentjhughes told us to get an office and hire locally
- So we did, and then my wife created this amazing office
- We have two amazing daughters
- Our company AutomationLinks works with large companies and organizations around the world
We decided to hire local only and build up our office. We have an amazing team and are continuing to hire.
The office has not only helped us attract talented employees, it's also helped grow our YouTube channel to over 100k subscribers.
I've also had 10+ X (Twitter) friends stop in and meet in real life!
We are still hiring locally in Wilmington if you know anyone.
Would love to hear from you, where are you living now and would you open an office like this?
P.S. By the way, thanks for the call out yesterday @mhp_guy we need friends to keep us accountable!

@MikeBotkin_ For years, I used the “visionary” identity as a permission slip for laziness and procrastination.
I’m a big fan of EOS overall, but I’ve seen this misapplication of the visionary/integrator dynamic wipe out any of the benefits from the other pillars.
English

The number 1 red flag 🚩 ever is when someone describes themselves as the “visionary”
Theory: Gino/EOS created a label for people that won’t/can’t/aren’t willing to actually do work.
CoFounders Nik@CoFoundersNik
Every entrepreneur seems to be a “visionary” looking for an “integrator” I’ve NEVER met an integrator looking for a visionary… Why?

In today's episode, we look at another banger of a business:
@girdley - "I haven't seen one green flag other than it's written in English."
Our guest @connorgroce - "You are never going to be rewarded for doing a good job here."
@BillDA - ""This whole franchisor is just about selling more units. They're not at all about helping you create any revenue."
