@agraybee when the people you see in places of prestige are intelligent and dignified, it inspires people to be more like that. almost everyone is capable of much more than they are actually doing, but does not have the will to do so. cultural pressures can substitute for willpower.

I'm not sure intelligent adults were ever prominent, but we did have much more stable adults. The country got their information from people like Walter Cronkite, not some coked up grifter on their phone.
