@FreddyLA7 Power of going viral.
Enjoy it, but that crash back to reality is going to be weird.
English

@harukaawake Honestly, most Americans struggle to understand it too.
English

@ashleyschendel But seriously, you should have Grand Canyon on there to. I don't care if it's normie or whatever, seeing it for yourself is an incredible experience
English

I love seeing what people from other countries put on their USA bucket lists because it is not the stuff we think it will be.
They’re not saying “Grand Canyon” or “New York City.”
They’re saying Buc-ee’s, a Big Gulp, Texas BBQ, baseball, a rodeo, a drive thru, Chipotle, a gun range, and watching something completely ridiculous happen in a Walmart parking lot.
And the funny part is they’re not wrong.
America is so normal to us that we forget how bizarre and entertaining it probably looks from the outside.
If somebody came here and asked you for the real American experience, what are you making them do first?
English

@groundhopper_fc Hotel breakfast are almost always blah.
Go to Waffle House or International House of Pancakes if you want a real breakfast.
English

As a European I really thought the American Breakfast would be a bit… “ better “ than this…
But at least the Waffle was amazing🤩🇺🇸
IT IS MATCHDAYYY🧡🤩

@NativeTexan_17 @USAA USAA used to leverage the fact that military and veterans were responsible, low risk insurees.
Then they opened it to "family" of their customers, where family is a distant connection, and lost their ability to offer low rates to a safe, responsible pool
English

Yall… USAA has lost their fucking minds.
Look at this insurance quote I got for two vehicles for my sons and I.
Of course having two teenage drivers bumps it up but yall….
@USAA y’all have lost your fucking minds.
I have had zero wrecks.
I had one ticket when I was 32 years which wasn’t anything crazy.
My one son still has his permit and my older son has one speeding ticket that he went to whatever drivers course was but it was five miles over.
Maybe it’s BECAUSE YALL SUCK AND HATE MILITARY …
….anyway.

@DollyT222027 Italics is normal way to represent thoughts. Don't listen to whiners who proclaim expertise because they published 3 short stories and 1 self published novel only read by their mom. People have tastes, taste doesn't then impose industry rules on everyone

@nickroberts317 Assuming this is all one color, how many points is this worth? Also, what Destination Tickets were they going for?
English

@sakebu_cheese_ This region, more or less. It's not normal wear for most as ball caps are more typical work wear, but rodeos, fairs, etc will definitely have it.

Let me explain why I think Freddy resonates.
Lots of Europeans visit the USA as tourists. They visit New York City, or Washington DC, or Hollywood, or Las Vegas, and if they visit natural beauty too, they go to really crowded places like the Grand Canyon or Yellowstone.
So while they see our cultural and natural icons, they are mostly in blue cities and they therefore also see the decline, the homeless, the drugs, the dirt and the rude, rude Americans.
But Freddy is not doing that. Freddy is driving, and he’s doing it through the heartland, where people are kind and polite, the skies are wide open, and the bounty of Buc-ees and Bass Pro Shops are overwhelming.
Freddy is not seeing fentanyl and decline.
He is seeing the real, hopeful, patriotic, kind America that European tourists rarely traverse.
And he loves it.
That’s why Freddy is a phenomenon.

We found another surreal place on our way. I know some people will say I’m too positive about everything I see, but this place was crazy. They had a shooting range in the store.
English

@fiago7 Yes.
Heck, the Smithsonian Museums alone are worth the trip, much less the rest
English

@RocketPulpHack @sunnyright Per the article you can find out
FootPadNYC.com
I'm not checking that link, bit since you're curious you can...
English

@sunnyright He thought the rules were different for foot traffic.
Also, I know I’m going to regret asking this, but exactly what does a “foot fetish company” do? Aside from human trafficking, I mean.

The GWOT Memorial—much like the war itself—is an ugly, purposeless monstrosity that appears to have been orchestrated by career bureaucrats in a Pentagon basement conference room. Planned by think-tank staffers, supervised by a committee of GS-15s and overpaid consultants, designed in PowerPoint to be as generic and inoffensive as possible.
By resembling a pointless infinite loop, it’s the perfect metaphor for our forever wars. But our fallen heroes deserve far better.

@BroWire_ Cops going to mocking the hose draggers for YEARS for that one

@SharrellAnne2 The video clip does better (I'll share original post in reply)

I snipped a section of the video that better explains the memorial elements than these pictures.
English

I’m not trying to be difficult here, but I genuinely don’t get it. Can somebody explain what I’m missing?
Maybe it makes more sense in person, but from these renderings I’m struggling to understand how this is supposed to function as a memorial. What elements are meant to tell the story of the Global War on Terror and the men and women who served, sacrificed, and never came home?
I’m asking sincerely. I’m not criticizing it. I just feel like I’m looking at concept art and missing the deeper meaning. What am I not seeing?

An early look at the @GWOTMF memorial planned for Washington, D.C, released today. It's planned on what are now athletic fields at the corner of Henry Bacon Drive and Constitution Avenue, near the Lincoln Memorial and Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
