WHO/Europe’s Humanitarian Bridge Initiative in Cyprus has delivered its first shipment of emergency nutrition supplies for #Gaza. Around 106 metric tons of supplies were mobilized from Limassol to Ashdod Port and are now in Gaza for distribution. This shipment marks an important step in strengthening @WHO's ability to move humanitarian supplies across regions to support people affected by the conflict. Another #HRC session has finished with the adoption of numerous important resolution. #CY participated actively in informals, dialogues, oral presentations and side events. Important to continue working towards the protection and promotion of all human rights.

Last Friday, the #EUCyprusPresidency hosted the #EU #WIPO retreat in Geneva. Speakers included Ms. Alexandra Grazioli, Director of WIPO for the Lisbon System, & Dr. László Vass, Law Officer DG GROW. Discussions focused on protecting #GeographicalIndications for agri products.

The 356th session of the #ILO Governing Body kicked off on Monday, with #🇨🇾representing the #EU and its Member States as the unique tripartite constituents—workers, employers, and governments—come together to discuss a range of issues, including the #reform of the Organisation.

#HRC61 #Item4 🇨🇾 raised Russia’s aggression against Ukraine & Iran’s unjustified attacks against Gulf states. Called for respect to Lebanon’s independence and sovereignty & for sustained flow of humanitarian aid in Gaza. Highlighted Turkiye’s democratic backsliding.

#HRC61 during ID with @UNCoISyria, 🇨🇾supported critical work of CoI & an inclusive Syrian-led Syrian-owned transition ensuring #HR & security of all Syrians. 🇨🇾 called on transitional authorities to continue cooperating with all UN mandated mechanisms.

#HRC61 at the #ID with the Group of Experts on #Belarus, 🇨🇾condemned repression against the civil society & political opponents, incl. intimidation & harassment targeting Belarusians living abroad. Belarus must align its legislation & practices with its international obligations.

T-14 days to the WTO’s 14th Ministerial Conference in Cameroon. Over the next two days, WTO Members gather at the General Council to finalize preparations and set the stage for #MC14. 🇨🇾 PCY remains committed to supporting EU’s efforts for a constructive and successful #MC14.

Last Friday, the Cyprus Presidency hosted the EU Health Retreat in Geneva with speakers from @WHO , @gavi & @GlobalFund , reflecting on the WHO Executive Board decision and the future of Global Health Architecture.

Cyprus backs the plan to save #87MillionLives this year. Humanitarians are working in conflict and disaster zones around the world. This is vital lifesaving action where it’s needed most.
