@GeriPerna When we exported all of our manufacturing jobs so that investors could make more money and we could get cheaper prices at Walmart. They took with them the ancillary jobs of retailers and service workers who absorbed the paychecks of factory workers.

When I worked at Macy's back in the 80's, people who worked there raised families on what they made. It was their career. I remember the guy in electronics retired after 30 years, and my boss in the cash office did the same. The guys who worked in the suit department did very well for themselves. Despite that, the store profited greatly every year, and we were given a beautiful Christmas party in appreciation. What changed in this country? When did it become nearly impossible to support oneself at a job that didn't require a degree or technical school?

@PeterSweden7 Not at all. Women vote socialist for a very good reason: they are evolved to. Women instinctively and rightly look for a backup husband for their children. Socialist policies provide that. Empathy is way down the list.

The reason that so many young women support Socialist parties is because it appeals to their emphatic and nurturing nature. "We have to help everybody, give them welfare" But what they don't realize is that the Socialists just lie so they can grab more power for themselves. Government programs optimize for political theater, not results. The contrast couldn't be more damning.

If all of those 10s of millions of jobs are replaced by Ai and robots, who are the customers going to be that keep the economy going? Universal Basic Income (UBI) has already been discredited. The Fed printing all of the money to replace taxes would destroy the US Dollar. I really don't see the economic model that exists after AI and robots eliminate 25% to 50% of the jobs. Somehow I am not able to imagine the same transition happening that we saw during previous technology changes. Is it just me? I am not seeing the future economic system that makes sense. One thing I am sure of, UBI is not going to be it.
