@theEskaton Yeah I think they handle it about as well as they can with minimal interference. Deleting reviews is a can of worms you don't wanna open, so even in the case of blatant review bombs they just remove them from the score calculation rather than delete them entirely.

@DioLarmguy Steam is trying to do something about it. Currently, also ratings for a given language is displayed on the main page if there are at least 200 reviews. Mine shows overwhelmingly positive on the first place.

@BirdAccount1492 The Chinese kind of just have the numbers so that even relatively few of them getting upset can tip the scales so heavily without particularly good organization being necessary. But, we probably could equal it with good organization.

@IndiciaObscure @weirdfish34 The default setting is to show the score for reviews in your language, and it breaks down recent reviews separately. Annoyingly, it seems like recent reviews cannot be broken down by language, only all-time.

That’s interesting. Is there a way to view the ratings in specific languages (or countries) as shown, without having studied computer science? It would be absolutely fascinating to go through my favourite games and see how people around the world rate them, perhaps due to cultural differences or preferences O.O

@Karasuma_usb For users on Steam, you can filter by language rather easily. It is a bit unfortunate for the developers that this sort of thing will affect the overall score though, I hope that they're able to see through it and keep making their games with integrity.

@weirdfish34 I've actually had a good back in forth with him in the replies to this tweet now and yeah we agree a lot more than I thought at first. I still think Valve handles it well, but he seemed to be genuinely unaware that it is very often a problem with Chinese reviews specifically
