IMHO the reason populists belittle the academic qualifications of Dr Jill Biden or Carney is so that a lot of people with PhDs will crow about them, which makes normal people side with the populists.

Unbelievable. The @CPC_HQ claim former Chair of the Bank of Canada & Bank of England is poorly educated. @PierrePoilievre has a BA in International Relations from @UCalgary; @AndrewScheer has a BA from the @uOttawa in (I believe) political science or general studies. Neither have any formal Economics training. They would likely both go glassy eyed if an equation was put before them. They're career politicians with no substantive expertise in any particular field as far as I can tell. Carney has a BA in Economics from Harvard & a PhD in Economics from Oxford. Carne is highly respected and admired in the UK (I am a dual citizen and have many relatives there). I think it is entirely appropriate to classify Pierre Pollievre as Canada's @realDonaldTrump in light of these comments. #bcpoli #cdnpoli

@DisneyTory @MikeTheNavyGuy1 Good stuff! Definitely timely given CAF expansion. And yeah, I’m struggling with having to tick off certain mandatories but not wanting to miss particularly good courses… I might be biting the bullet on a two course semester in the fall if if I can hate myself enough to do it.

Just submitted my last term paper of the semester at RMC. Two years down, baseline theory course, and electives are done.
The only course left for me is Research Methods this Fall, then my attention turns to preparing for my comprehensive exam studies.

@brihard @MikeTheNavyGuy1 My thesis will examine the relationship between the Chief of the Defence Staff and the Minister of National Defence and how their relationship influences the military in areas of policy, personnel and procurement.

@brihard @MikeTheNavyGuy1 There has been some rough patches for sure. I had planned to do one course per semester but this past year there was just some really good and interesting courses that I felt I couldn’t pass on, so I gritted my teeth and made it work.
As for the PhD: it’s in War Studies.

@NoahGairn Hmm. Could this design be adapted to submarine support? With a projected new fleet of up to twelve submarines, the RCN could probably use one on each coast.
