@Rob_Flaherty WMATA just bragged about ridership being the highest since pre-Covid. (Obviously a lot is due to the return to office environment).

And obviously, this is the point. They want the city to wilt because of The Swamp. But tourisms down, restaurants are closing, jobs are scarce, construction costs are insane, plus the cities got a looming budget disaster because of the loss of tax revenue from all the above.

I know you're not supposed to have sympathy for DC or whatever but the Trump admin absolutely wrecked the economy of the place. DOGE, the fear of getting stopped by ICE, militarization, etc all causing jobs to go down and prices to go up. x.com/KathleenBushJo…

@usmntonly Parking for NFL games would be between $40 and $100. So, even if parking were available, it would probably be similar (provided 1 person per vehicle).

I'm at the press briefing where New Jersey authorities and World Cup organizers confirmed match day transit costs. The NJ Transit train will cost $150 each for 40,000 fans per match. The host committee's shuttle bus will cost $80 each for 10,000 fans. Full story to follow.

FIFA released a spicy statement from World Cup COO Heimo Schirgi responding to NJ Transit’s $150 roundtrip train announcement, and shouted out other cities who are keeping public transit cheap. “The NJ Transit current pricing model will have a chilling effect,” Schirgi says.

@GetOnTap I've seen pink BBQ trucks before, so the color doesn't surprise.

@emilymiller There is at least one working fountain (nearer the Vietnam War Memorial). With the amount of construction nearby, it is possible there have been some disconnections). The one you showed is still out of service.

The elderly sitting in the heat next to the non functioning water fountain made me mad too.

It’s 86° in DC and the water fountains are still off under the winter policy. People shouldn’t have to pay $4 for a tiny plastic bottle to run/walk the National Mall. Turn them on, @NationalMallNPS @MayorBowser Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt rips LA Mayor Karen 'Basura' (trash) Bass over the 6th Street Bridge disaster. The bridge is completely dark because criminals have stolen all the lights. The bridge was completed in 2022 and cost just shy of $600 M; however, millions more will now reportedly have to be spent to relight the bridge. "Mayor Basura is planning to take two hundred more million dollars of our tax money to get solar power lights. Oh, because the criminals won't steal those,” said @spencerpratt.

I am still thinking you are reading too much into this. Remember when the studio distributed Sound of Freedom? There were people throwing terms like QAnon around. Or trying to infer connections to Epstein from it, and conspiracy theories abounded about theaters. In the end it was a movie about a sensitive subject taken from real circumstances. I don't think this is some indoctrination feature as much as a vehicle for discussion.
