@ESilvermanMD @VQR Thanks so much for this article @ESilvermanMD . I attended the 2015 DPC summit in KC and was also at the 2022 summit written about in your story as well, 7 years into my DPC practice. Your article captures perfectly the essence of what drives our movement. Thanks.

Today, I'm excited to share "Best Practices," my longform reported essay in @VQR about Direct Primary Care.

Thanks @rshawnm . Former corporate medicine family physician here now happily practicing #DPC #directcare.

Direct primary care. These practices have minimized all administrative functions except for those that are focused on patient care and facilitating patient care. Time and space are created not by innovation and new things, but simply by stopping the wasted motion.

@AtlasMD @docshanep Thanks. Sounds like a tough sale.
English

@Equality_Health @docshanep New clinics are starting with much higher prices, limited hours, much smaller patient panels, often less of a value proposition by not doing medications and labs etc.
English

The biggest risk to #directcare is #directcare- if we start having a "day 2 mindset" businessinsider.com/aws-ceo-adam-s…
English

@AtlasMD @docshanep Thanks for this. Any ways in particular that you’re seeing this play out with #directcare #DPC?
English

@docshanep archive.is/h8Dkt I would summarize it as starting to Coast, and forgetting to put the customer or the patient first, choosing what’s more comfortable for the company versus what is best for the patient. The slow Mark towards higher prices and less value.

@shlebyhahn @UHC That’s maddening. We send our uninsured/ crappily insured to Baron for cash pay stress ECHO for ~$500-600 if that’s an option.
English

Hi @UHC I ordered a stress test for a high risk patient with typical angina. “PA required”. I submitted history and pts risk profile. Called twice to speak with your physician reviewer. No answer or call back. You closed case w/o approval. Bad Faith and deplorable.

@drcarroll Just curious if this is as much of an issue in Tucson where most of the town is xeriscaped? I lived in Tucson from 2002-2004. Other than the golf courses I think there was 1 neighborhood w/ grass lawns (Winter Haven I think), and it was sorta frowned on even back then.

Further marginalizing a group of people that is already marginalized is unconscionable and the antithesis of Christianity. Interested in thoughts on this from my state rep @AlexRileyMO washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2023/…
