@jemelehill Doesn't she work in an industry where public credibility is very important whereas the guy she was with only has to be respected in the locker room?

I don’t disagree that’s the issue. But it’s interesting to me how Dianna is bearing all the consequences and I also know that so many men in the business are completely compromised by cozy relationships.
Liz Mullen@liz_mu11en

The sports industry is one of most sexist, misogynistic business sectors in the U.S. That said, don’t think this ⬇️ is a double standard situation at all. The problem is not that’s she’s a woman. It’s that she is a journalist & he’s a source.

@AyomideSam45799 @espn I'm from Oklahoma been a Oklahoma Sooners fan my entire life but my God the home field advantage that Oklahoma fans pretend doesn't give them an advantage makes me want this team to lose every game it possibly can lose. Fuck Oklahoma softball it takes resources from football

@Rachel__Nichols It's a talking point the people like you only care about. I watch the games all the time and I understand that as a NBA fan teams are going to operate more like NHL teams with different shifts from game to game where teams almost have multiple starting lineups they utilize

Oh I definitely agree we need to fix this. I just don’t think tying this to the awards ever made any sense. So instead of debating 65 games, let’s ask - why did this happen last night? 1) teams resting guys for playoffs 2) tanking teams 3) players who are legit injured As for 1… this is really only a problem for about five days of the NBA season. I think we could all live with it, if we also weren’t dealing with #2 and #3. As for 2…the answer is not “just penalize teams that are tanking.” The answer is to figure out WHY they’re tanking and fix THAT problem, so tanking is no longer an attractive solution. (personally, I don’t think the current system gives bad teams enough avenues to get better. So tanking is all they’ve got. Solve the problem and you’ll get less tanking. (If you just penalize tankers *without* solving the problem, you have an NBA with a lot of endlessly crappy teams, which helps no one.) As for 3…we need to keep looking for WHY it feels like more injuries are happening. I know players in the ‘90s played all 82 games, blah, blah blah, but obviously players’ increased size, and how much they run during a game, is vastly different than it used to be. Star players are also staying in the league until they are much older than their predecessors, which means we have more big names who are prone to getting hurt. Would a smaller number of games, spread out over more time, help here? Something else? The answers aren’t super easy to figure out, but for me, it has always been a matter of at least asking the right questions, as opposed to throwing out a bunch of penalties on behavior you don’t like.

I get it. Long season. Playoff spots locked up. But this is absolute lunacy. And again, it goes back to the fans who pay to come to these games. Should the teams just discount the final five games at pennies on the dollar? Ultimately, I see points that folks like @Rachel__Nichols are making. Players are hurt, players need rest. But the only way forward for continued in-arena fan engagement is to refund fans when stars don't play. Because THIS ... wow. If I put a week's salary toward four tickets for a game and this happens, I'd never go to a game again. THIS is insanity.

@SamQuinnCBS Chris Paul should probably have the first statue in Oklahoma City for introducing Oklahoma City to the NBA and the NBA to Oklahoma City when he was with the hornets then when he mentored SGA during the year he was in Oklahoma City. Most influential basketball player in Oklahoma

@SamQuinnCBS Nobody thought SGA was going to be what he is even the Thunder. They projected Chet being the anchor of the team but unlike other tanking teams they didn't prevent their players from getting better. Teams like Utah could already be good but they don't let their good players play

How? This is easy to say and really hard to execute in practice. He has three super max years left on his contract. If someone wants to take the contract I’d certainly let them. But I’d rather get 30-40 All-NBA-caliber games out of him than pay several draft picks to dump him.

Paul Pierce says it’s time for the Philadelphia 76ers to move on from Joel Embiid and rebuild the roster. "It’s time to rebuild in Philly; it’s time to build around [Tyrese] Maxey and VJ Edgecombe, you know what I’m saying? It’s time for the Big Fella to move out West; he needs some sunshine on that knee. I’m done trusting the process; 10 years trying to trust the process. Trust the process is over." @HPbasketball Kyrie might have the best handles we've seen since the '80s he has the ball on a string it doesn't get stolen. He's also incredibly intelligent ldoesn't make mistakes on the court

@HPbasketball If there is any weakness in the Thunder defense it's their three point defense so having a point guard that can get across half court and then start running a offense to distribute to shooters is how you beat the Thunder.

Yeah there is a REAL chance OKC rips off a 16-2 playoffs.
Cameron Lenz@SlamLenz

@HPbasketball I think it was the playoff run. Little inconsistent based on how dominant they were in the regular season. Part of that was Jdubs health. Another part was how young the team was. I also think people continue to underrate how hellish it was to play the Pacers
