This is my most overused edit: the Oceans 11 cut. I use it to structure the first act in narrative, music videos, motion graphics and corporate promotional videos. The Oceans 11 cut is all about pace. Fast, slow, punch. #PostChat 1/5

@davidcinema I noticed the list has 7 Samurai as a top ranking profound movie but not Rashomon but that’s not how I remember it.

Apple Creator Studio. You might not want to pay for subscription software. Many of the individual apps are available for one-time purchase. Would you reconsider if only Apple Creator Studio members had access to an macOS/Safari-like Beta program?

@FilmPatton @QTarantino_ I haven't tried to make a full feature with 12K actually. . .not yet at least. I do think a feature with that kind of price point is gonna be tough, but a short? Nah - at least, not monetarily. But we'll see! We're in the thick of it right now.

I honestly don’t think a short film should cost $10,000 to make. I’m no filmmaker so I’d have to hire my cinematographer and sound mixer, but $10,000? Geez. Man…

I had to call the bank and dispute @Adobe 's charges today. I waited until THE DAY of the renewal, and they are STILL trying to charge me hundreds. I can't imagine how a company could generate more ill will in its customers. I am done with their dark billing patterns.

@HenryJBaugh @QTarantino_ Ok. I’ve tried it, you’ve tried it, OP has tried it. That’s 3 right here that don’t have as much talent as it takes to create a masterpiece with 12k. For us, we need to hire other talented people to bolster our crew’s talent pool.

@FilmPatton @QTarantino_ I mean, is it? Carruth's a weird little creepy freak in real life, but his methods aren't exactly rocket science or anything. Just attempt to do what he and others have done and something good might happen.

@FilmPatton @QTarantino_ I mean, inflation is one thing, sure, but again we're talking about a project who's budget is even that high primarily because they were shooting on Film. And again - $12K for a full feature? Even I think that's great.

@HenryJBaugh @QTarantino_ I’m not gonna go through each one of these, but I just wanna show you right off the top that the movie primer was made for $7000 in 2004. That is roughly $12,000 in today’s money. If anything you’re proving exactly my point.

@FilmPatton @QTarantino_ Primer (and Upstream Color if we expand our scope further), El Mariachi, The Blair Witch Project, The Last Broadcast, Paranormal Activity, Eraserhead, Following, and most recently For Lovers Only - and if we get into shorts, that explodes exponentially. (1/2)

@FilmPatton @QTarantino_ I don't know that I necessarily agree. Again, there are tons of great first Films, and shorts, made for way under this price point - and many of them before the digital dispensation, when the preeminent cost was Film stock. It can definitely be done.

@HenryJBaugh @QTarantino_ I’m saying that 10k is cheap. If you’re trying to make a good film, you’re going to have to spend some money.

@FilmPatton @QTarantino_ Sure, but you can also. . .make a good, fulfilling Film for cheap, if you have enough sense, and there are plenty of examples of this. So what's your point?

@HenryJBaugh @QTarantino_ Yeah, you can make a bad film for cheap. You can make a film you don’t like for cheap. It won’t get you hired and it won’t fulfill you so what’s the point?

@FilmPatton @QTarantino_ Y'all need to realize that if you're on the level of making Short Films as a pathway to features, you should stop trying to do things as "professionally" as possible. Call on your art friends, shoot guerrilla, scrimp and save. That's been the way since forever, always.

This was way too easy... I created a cute 3D character in minutes instead of hours using this combo: Unbound + Tripo I’m not a 3D artist, but this made the whole process feel simple, playful, and actually accessible. Unbound helped me shape the character idea, then Tripo turned it into a 3D model without the usual complicated workflow If you are a 3D artist or you are just starting, try Unbound. It’s free, open for everyone to experiment with, and a fun way to create characters, creatures, and 3D models without feeling overwhelmed I had so much fun using it today, and I think many visual creators are going to love it. In Skyfall, Daniel Craig almost ruined this scene. Before filming he had bought a nice pair of leather gloves. He loved them so much he insisted on wearing them for this scene. But the plot relies on Bond’s gun having a fingerprint scanner. In editing room producers literally lost their minds. One producer said: “It’s against the logic of this scene. The villain can't fire Bond's gun because it has a fingerprint scanner, but if that's the case, then how was Bond ever going to fire it wearing gloves?” They considered reshooting but they found out it would cost millions. The only solution became to digitally paint in Bond's hands. If you watch the scene you can see that Bond has podgy hands because in every single frame he was wearing thick leather gloves.

@VitoComedy It’s the cycle of a Jedi’s life in the Star Wars universe. Start off doing what you think is right, you struggle, succeed, something bad happens you become a hermit and then the greater cause forces you to come out of your cave. It’s always been like that.
