This is CM @Dev_Fadnavis's proposal, but is NOT included in Pune CMP recently signed by CM himself! 😕 Why make CMPs then? 'Reach anywhere in 15 minutes' = people won't use Metro/bus. Proposal against vision to increase public transport use and reduce private vehicle use!! 😡

Pune consistently has nearly 60-70% more pedestrian fatalities than what MoHUA, Govt of India suggests as a 'permissible limit' for a city's transportation to be called 'good'. We must do whatever it takes to reduce pedestrians' fatalities!

@FollowSPTM Please look at all deaths due to accidents. Dumper trucks/heavy vehicles are causing deaths. Deaths due to rash 4 wheelers. Most of the time's victim's are 2 wheeler riders and pillion. Pune police should do a better job in understanding and implementing measures to reduce deaths

Data on ped deaths in Pune. Some observations / questions: 1. M 30-49 = a huge demographic group. Is it because anyway a big % of peds are M 30-49? 2. Or because they take more risks? 3. OTOH, very few F 30-49. Are they much more careful while walking and crossing? Any insights?

@HillsPune @parisarpune @VTBKS_Pune This is good in general, but this one is way off the track: "दर ३ ते ५ वर्षांनी ३००-५०० बसेस येत राहिल्या तर" PMPML needs 5000 buses in its fleet today. And they should be scrapped every ~8 years. So we need 600 buses/year only for replacement. +add 150/year for pop increase.

I've been travelling by bus at least once or twice a week recently and have found it to be a pleasant experience. But we need more buses, more routes! There are many like me who hate driving in the city, find parking a nightmare and will happily switch to a bus if it's convenient. #voteforbus #VoteForTekdi
